Hello,

Is there a guide on how to increase CVMs CPU resources (cores) after deployment to accommodate additional enabled features or increased load?

Thanks!

Hi,

Generally the foundation selects the right vcpu on the CVMs and does not need to change, i will recommend contact support for that as incorrect editing will cause CVM issues.

There is KB4942 which has process to change vCPU of CVM on AHV.

Thanks for info @sl.farhanparkar,

Can you provide a link to the article KB4942? I didn’t find anything in the documentation.

We used AOS+vSphere. We encountered CPU usage high for CVMs. Checked with support, they agreed to add vCPU and memory for CVMs.

For vCPU number, we edit them in vSphere GUI after ensure node is in maintenance mode and CVM is power off. Remember the max vCPU amount is the max single CPU model core number.

For memory, also in vSphere GUI.

We’re using AHV, I think it would require special modification from the config files. I though there could be an easy way to re-configure this.

@sl.farhanparkar , sorry but the link doesn’t contain anything, does it require special access ?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes as customer and partner you should have support portal access, this knowledge base article is available through portal.

Any modifications to CVM i will highly recommend to involve Nutanix support.

I do have access to the support portal, don’t know why it’s not showing up.

I’ll contact the support if needed.

Thanks for the help!
