how you are doing the foundation?!
to do a reset, start servers, and provide the IPMI IP/password for each node.it will restart servers and does the foundation for you.
BTW which version of AOS you are planning to install as the compatibility list is showing the latest for your hardware is AOS 6.5.1
Hello jamali.ahmad,
Thank you for your response. I used VirtualBox on my laptop to connect Foundation with the Nutanix nodes, and I am running AOS version 6.5.
I already performed a reset via IPMI, but it didn’t resolve the issue. Additionally, I noticed that in the IPMI storage information, the disks installed in the Nutanix nodes are not visible.
is your sangfor currently working without any issue?
is it your first time that doing a nutanix foundation?!how many cables you have connected form your notebook and servers to switch?are you using a flat swtich?
when this error is happening, is it at the start of the foundation?can you upload the log file.
is it possible for you to try with a lower foundation version ?
try with different foundation version, lets say 5.2.1 do you still get the same error?
if you don't need the HCI, try to even image it with windows/nutanix CE/vmware/linux,this will confirm that your are able to see the storage and hardware is fine :)
Yes, this is my first time using Foundation. I have two cables connected to the node: one for IPMI and another 10Gb SFP cable to connect the node with the CVM.
Sangfor is not working. I tried to wipe the system files on the disk using the dd
command, but without success.
I’ve already tried older versions of Foundation (4.0, 4.5, and 5), but I still get the same error. I also attempted to install both Linux and Windows on the server, but the disk was not detected.
However, Proxmox can detect the disk and the installation process completes successfully. But when the server reboots after the installation, it doesn’t load anything, as if the system was never installed, even though the installer reports that the installation finished correctly.
you need to connect both cables as RJ45, use your IPMI and the NIC which is near the IPMI,connect them to a flat switch (with your notebook connected to it)if you have different subnet for IPMI and AOS, you need to add both of them to your notebook (and the virtual machine).
you could be doing something wrong during foundation.
do you have support for your hardware?!if yes you can engage support though.
hi,
Yes, I have already connected both the IPMI and the data cable on the RJ45 port on the same VLAN, but I’m still not getting any result. As for support, my server is no longer under support.
is it possible for you to install Nutanix CE edition, just boot from a bootable USB , I like to know if storage is presented there or no.if storage is not showing then you will face the same issue on your foundation.
you can check storage from bios as well, but I prefer the CE way.
