Benifits with choosing Nutanix rather than vmware

what are we getting from nutanix rather than using vmware.

 

I have few questions.

  1. how’s the license scheme in nutanix.
  2. what are the backups & recovery methods in nutanix.
  3. what type of softwares & products that supports with nutanix vm backup process. as an example in vmware backups. *Synology vmware backup * Qnap vmware backup * Veeam vmware backup & replication * Comvault vmbackup *Acronis vmware backup.
  4. How replication work in nutanix
  5. How High Availability feature work in nutanix.
  6. How vm Live/PowerdOff Migration work in nutanix
  7. what mechanism is use in nutanix while comparing to vmware vMotion
  8. what type of converters are use in nutanix. Ex: vCenter Converter in vmware
  9. what is the snapshot mechanism in nutanix.

    1. For HCI, it’s based on number of cores, and AHV is included, doesn’t have separate license

    1. If you are using Nutanix with ESXi, then it will use VMware support products, if you are using AHV, most of backup software support agentless backup for Nutanix AHV, for example, Veeam, Commvault, Veritas, HYCU, and more.

I think you’re best bet would be to read through the nutanixbible.com to get a deep dive into the questions here and also reach out to a Partner or Nutanix SE that can spend the time to walk through all of these in detail for you.

i ll refer the bible as you said. but sorry to say there are no nutanix partners in my country -Sri Lanka-. best thing is readout bible first. i ll check.
