Hello Dears,

I want to clarify the best practices in the process of Nutanix foundation AHV on Lenovo HX650-Storage V3 IS?

lenovo have 2 network cards
- ThinkSystem Broadcom 57416 10GBASE-T 2-port OCP Ethernet Adapter
- ThinkSystem Network Adapter 10 GbE PCIe Ethernet Adapter

and in foundation should connect one port from XCC management port and one from data port in dummy switch to avoid customer network .

in this case we have problem in adding the network card with fiber ports because of don't find the gateway and NTP


what is the best practice advice to avoid this problem ?
Do their is any other way to foundate nutanix on lenovo hardware ?

You dont need to have NTP and Gateway up and running for foundation. 

During foundation only fill in gateway and leave ntp empty. Then foundation with correct ipadresses, bonding settings and vlans. Create the cluster. Shut it down and rack and stack at the customer. Power it on and fill in dns, ntp etcetera. 

To foundation make sure you temporary switch has the same vlans and if network and xcc are on different subnets then the easiest way is to give you foundation machine 2 interfaces. One in each subnet. 

So what I always have with me is a switch configured with vlan 1-4000 and native vlan 1. Then I have 50% of the ports in LACP so I can make all combinations possible to foundation correct. My laptop has two (2) USB network cards. So I can access XCC/IPMI/iLO/iDrac and the AHV/CVM networks.

We successfully built the foundation using a flat switch, XCC port, and port data 1G. However, we are seeing an issue where a NIC card with 10G ports is not added. What is the cause of this issue and how can it be resolved?
