Nutanix Move (Move) is a cross-hypervisor mobility solution to move VMs with minimal downtime.

What's New in Release 4.8.0

This release includes the following new features and enhancements:

Upgrade to Move 4.8.0

  • Move can be upgraded to version 4.8.0 from the Move versions 4.5.0, 4.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6.0, and 4.7.0.

Important:

  • Upgrade from Move 4.5.x and 4.6.0 will reboot the Move appliance. IP address of the Move appliance (if DHCP configured) may change after that. If Move is unreachable, find the new IP address from Prism or vCenter to access Move.
  • Complete all the in-progress migrations from ESXi before upgrading from Move 4.5.x and 4.6.0.

The following permission is required for ESXi environments: Allow VirtualMachine Download

Customize target VM properties during migration

  • You have the option to customize the target VM properties (such as VM name, memory, CPU, and power state) during migration.

Support for AWS migration with user having Explicit Deny

  • Move now supports AWS migration with a user account having Explicit Deny by region.

Support for migration from ESXi 8.0 to AHV

  • Move now supports migration of VMs from ESXi 8.0 to AHV.

Update NTP servers for Move

  • You have the option to update the NTP servers for Move.

New guest operating systems qualification

  • The following guest operating systems have been qualified.
    • ESXi to AHV:
      • RHEL 8.7, 9.0, and 9.1
      • Ubuntu 22.04 UEFI
      • CentOS 8.4 secure boot
      • OEL 8.6 secure boot
      • Windows 10 secure boot
    • Hyper-V to AHV:
      • Windows 10 secure boot
      • Ubuntu 22.04 secure boot
      • AWS to AHV: CentOS 7.8, 7.9

Bug fixes and security improvements

  • Some issues were resolved, and security improvements were made.
