This update brings meaningful improvements and bug fixes to ensure your Nutanix clusters remain fast, stable, and secure — just the way you expect.

Review the detailed release notes before deploying any product updates.

💡 What’s New

  • This release bundles:

    • NCC 5.1.1

    • NGT 4.2

    • Foundation 5.7.1

    • LCM 3.1.1

    • Flow Network Security 4.2.0

Note: AHV is no longer included in the AOS bundle. For clean installs or cluster expansion, download AHV separately via the Nutanix Support Portal.

✅ Resolved Issues — More Stability, Less Hassle

  • Security & SSL: Custom ECDSA SSL certificates no longer break App Switcher or VM operations.

  • Metro Availability: Enabling on DR-segmented clusters now works as expected.

  • Flow Upgrades: Fixed an issue where Flow install failures could freeze the CVM.

  • Stargate Crashes: Resolved recurring WAL recovery issues and high CVM CPU spikes.

  • Data Hydration: No more infinite retries — nearSync and garbage collection are back on track.

  • Prism Central Tasks: PC web console no longer delays subtasks triggered from Prism Element.

🧠 Important Considerations

  • Chrony replaces NTP for time sync.

  • TCP Wrapper, VLAN discovery, and host-based reservation methods are not supported.

  • v3 VM APIs should only be used in Prism Central (not in Prism Element).

  • Upgrading with NVIDIA GPUs requires additional validation.

🔄 Supported Features by Hypervisor

Most core features work across AHV, ESXi, and Hyper-V. Highlights:

  • NearSync, Metro Availability, and Role-Based Access Control supported on AHV and ESXi.

  • vGPU & vNUMA available on AHV and ESXi.

  • Self-service restore, DR runbooks, Calm, and microsegmentation — AHV leads the pack here.

AOS 7.0.1.7 is all about polish — addressing edge-case issues, tightening integrations, and smoothing the path for operations at scale. If you’ve been waiting for a good moment to upgrade, this is it.
