PSI install secure browser no instructions

After hours of research  I found out their secure browser is a .EXE file! Doesn’t work on Ubuntu or Chrome. You have to use Windows 10 and disable Windows defender to maybe get it to run. After an hour and 3 browsers that all cleared the pre-exam screen and No help from their tech support yesterday,  Today I spent over an hour to no avail and another test timed out. I had logged in an hour before same run around no exam.  They need to state clearly what the 'install secure browser’ is, An .EXE  and the fact that you need Windows 10 EDGE browser.  PSI :thumbsdown_tone3:

Windows or Mac is required.

You do not need to disable Windows Defender.

Edge is not required, the .EXE installs a Chromium-based browser.

More information including a link to the PSI Experience video and running the pre-check is in the User’s Guide.

Hope this helps anyone else.    Clear browser history, & Use Windows 10 OS!!! That is the key take away!  And disable Windows Defender and any anti-virus protections before trying to install their 'secure browser' EXE file. Then any browser Chrome, Brave, Firefox. Edge browser if they check.  Won't work on Ubuntu OS. Not sure about Mac. Good thing I have Windows on another partition or I couldn't take the exam. It took me literally hours, like 4+ hours 2 missed exams to get what was going on when a few lines of this important information posted above the "Install Secure Browser" button would have solved this confusion instead of assuming everyone is using Windows OS!

Well it did not work with Windows Defender enabled. So I disabled the firewall and Defender. About to take exam in 30 minutes.

Well @JoshuaAndrews Another fail!! 3 strikes I am beyond annoyed. Ok my computer is 7 years old, I have Windows 10. I disabled firewall, defender AV, allowed camera for foreign apps allowed location. Got the secure browser installed restarted 5 or 6 times. Opened the secure browser and ran it as administrator The only issue was PSI video streaming was denied. I know the onboard camera works as I have had zoom sessions for months using Ubuntu!  So what do I need to do?  Buy a new Windows 10 computer? Buy a new video camera?  With 3 cents to my name? This PSI process STINKS!

@JoshuaAndrews This link goes nowhere. https://www.nutanixuniversity.com/lms/index.php?r=centralrepo/centralRepoPreview/sendFile&id_file=20&id_object=358&version=1

@JoshuaAndrews  I also had a Logitech HD 270p webcam that flashed several times but secure browser could no turn it on completely. I just checked and it works with app. If I had turned on app before exam, secure browser demands all apps closed. I watched a PSI video not the one you posted as a link. It didn’t say turn on camera first as access is already given. Please be more specific on these instructions. And I read all the PDFs about exam prep several times. No mention of EXE or turning on webcams pre-exam as secure browser Trojan takes control of my computer. It should also control the video stream. Tech support has been no help.

I also cleared cache. history and cookies from both Chrome and Edge on Win 10. I installed the secure browser with Edge then after restart used Chrome to launch exam after issue with video streaming but same issue with Chrome. Like I mentioned restarted several more times directly from secure browser icon and same results.

Missing all the parts on how you install and run the browser on Windows 10.

If you email certification@nutranixuniversity.com we will make sure PSI support works with you to address the issue.

This link goes nowhere. https://www.nutanixuniversity.com/lms/index.php?r=centralrepo/centralRepoPreview/sendFile&id_file=20&id_object=358&version=1

That link starts the download of the User’s Guide when I click on it.  Are you seeing an error message?

Thanks @JoshuaAndrews I emailed education@nutanix.com and just emailed certification@nutranixuniversity.com The link that will not open gives me this screenshot and I am signed into my account. Or a blank page without my VPN on. And no, no VPN on the Windows side of the computer.

This is what I get inside the Nutanix university site search bar with that link. https://www.nutanixuniversity.com/lms/index.php?r=centralrepo/centralRepoPreview/sendFile&id_file=20&id_object=358&version=1

Hey @JoshuaAndrews are you even a Nutanix employee? Have you taken the exam? Every link is not what you say it is This one goes nowhere

From my bounced email sent to to non-address you gave me. This is a valid email certification@nutanix.com

Hi @Frida

I’m not with the education team so sadly I won't be able to help much.

I think it was mentioned above but best to email university@nutanix.com and certification@nutanix.com

I’m sure the team will be able to get this all fixed.

Hello, i solved the “psi streaming denied”

i  had an issue with the pre-checks, only the psi video streaming was denied but the stream options Worked fine in other applications like webex and zoom, so i deactiveted my antivirus and reconfigured the streaming options in Windows and didn´t worked. I also restarted the Google Chrome browser and reconfigured the camera permission in the browser and didn´t worked. I restarted my laptot and didn´t work. Finally, i just turned off and turned on the camera and the microphone in the control panel of my laptop and  it worked.
