I went about updating a couple ESXi hosts the old school way with using zip files and doing vib installs. My first host worked without a hitch. My second victim... I mean host is having problems. In total I installed 4 zips per host. After bringing the second one back out of maintenence mode, and having the CVM start, a few minutes later I keep getting errors about the CVM not connecting. Then I check the console on the CVM in question, and it keeps rebooting, after a kernel panic. Here's the beginning of the output:

Any insight on what I can do?

Hey there, thanks for reaching out.

Looks like the CVM is barfing on booting back up.

Let's get a support case open and have the support engineers look at this.

Looks like you're a Dell customer?

If so, open a ticket with Dell support, and ask them to escalate to Nutanix, and we'll help you get to the bottom of this.

I must say, I'm impressed by how well nutanix runs with an entires host's storage being down. No one noticed today. We're still chugging along, all guest machines are running well.
