Hello, I'm trying to clone from a known UUID (our template) but I keep getting a 400 code for "Bad request" Ex : (Using Postman for this example, but have also tried with POSH and had the same result) POST https://1.1.1.1:9440/api/nutanix/v3/vms/{UUID}/clone Basic Auth - admin/pw Headers - Content-Type:application/json Once I send the API call, this returns : { "api_version": "3.1", "code": 400, "message_list": [ { "message": "Bad request.", "reason": "BAD_REQUEST" } ], "state": "ERROR" } Any advice / help would be appreciated. We've just gotten started with Nutanix, and I have a question about snapshots. Do I need to create a Protection Domain before I can create a snapshot? I'm not looking to take snapshots of a bunch of machines or have scheduled snapshots. I just want to make one snapshot of a single Windows server before I upgrade some software on it. However, I’ve been following several different guides out there and not having much luck.Installing on VM using ESXi 7.0 (VM version 17). I created new VM w/ Centos 7 compatibility and loaded the ISO.ISO was downloaded from here:https://next.nutanix.com/discussion-forum-14/download-community-edition-38417And md5sum matches.The ISO loads and boots up. Hello,My client has this alert "Active Directory Domain Contoller(s) or DNS servers configured on the UVMs in the cluster" due the fact that he moved his domain controller on the nutanix cluster. His environment is 100% Hyper-V, and he is totally aware that SMB3 share of the nutanix cluster, requires authentication from the domain. In order to avoid that my client created ISCSI volumes and presented them to his Hyper-V environment, on which he moved his domain controller, trying to avoid that type of failure if everything goes down after a power failure and when everything comes up, the domain controller to be able to boot prior of the authentication.Please let us know what's the best approach for this matter and what's your recommendation for this kind of setup, especially when all the domain controllers are virtualized.Regards,Adrian

The output i am looking for in the email would be something like below. Hi community, I’m fairly new to interacting with Nutanix for automation and was hoping my VM build task would be a simple process but I’ve hit a wall with the guest tools install. I’m building a RDS environment where I need as little human interaction as I can get to make administration easier so I’m building my host VM using SCCM. I’ve multiple good reasons for approach but its mainly in support for application deployment via happening at build time. I’ve tried to install the guest tools manually but I believe they are failing due to the files being copied from a mounted ISO which has some dynamically created certificates involved so this isn’t going to work. I can see the ISO can be mounted using the API calls but every reference I’ve seen looks to need a username/password passing in the script and I’m not overly keen in hard coding creds into script. Most of what i’ve seen is a few years old so I wondered if there has been any changes to the approach to mounting guest tools? It
So I can use prism central to go into each project and get the access control list, which is group and role. I am unable to decipher the API to produce a comprehensive list of Projects with the associated Group with Role. Does anyone know the link between these sets of data? I can get individual lists. The Access_Control_Policy does not have the correct information. I have a particular role that does not show up in a dump of the acp list or details. I've looked by uuid and name. Thanks, Bill

During the process I have read all the great official documentation that nutanix maintains (really, really useful) but it seems that i can’t find an answer for the following question: What is the purpose of that extra IP address that every file server requires on the storage network side? Is it possible to implement throttling at a per VM level? The thoughts/scenario behind the question: We have had on a couple occasions where we found a VM (different in each occasion) that was running away with storage controller IOPs. Of course the goal is to get the actual issue resolved for the offending VM, but we would like to be able to implement throttling to be able to assure other VMs in that cluster don't suffer when this does occur. Disk I/O has been the scenario so far, but could also see the need to throttle CPU, memory, and/or NIC throughput at some point.
Recently i have upgraded some Firmware for one of the cluster. Firmware upgrade has migrated all VMs to other host and put the host into maintenance mode. i was cross checking the behavior on vcenter and found in tune as per process but after migrating all VMs to other host it reset the uptime for all migrated VMs in vcenter logs/view. but when checked guest os uptime then it was older than vcenter info. (VMs were not rebooted). i am unable to understand that, is it a bug or do i have an issue with Nutanix cluster.
Hello Community, I have some doubts about running Nutanix on VMWare with ESXi with Cisco ACI fabric. To start, we have already married ourselves to a Cisco ACI network fabric (two sites connected with 12x10Gbit fiber (120Gbit)). We are using an IPN / Spine / Leaf topology, with APIC clusters in each site. In each DC there will be 24 Nutanix Nodes. All of my question have to do with the best practices of integrating these technologies. 1) Is it necessary to use VMware NSX to reap the benefits of Cisco ACI? 2) Can we just use a simple VMware installation (without NSX) and allow Nutanix full access to the ACI fabric? 3) Whats the best practices related to these three technologies coexisting together? I have found documents on Nutanix/ACI and Nutanix/VMWare, but I cant find anything on using all three together in terms of hierarchy and how to stitch it all together. Any guidance from those who have experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Michael

Hello I have a cluster with 3 nodes and AOS 5.10.10 and need upgrade to 5.15 but the nodes not have access to Internet. I upload the AOS 5.15 and show me in the Prism Console the versionm but not permit run the upgrade to new version. Need to know if is possible run the upgrade directly through cli to update the cluster. Thanks for your comments
