I have a question regarding private networks. I have an NFS share that resides in the 192.168.20.x network, however my Nutanix public (Internet access) network is in the 10.10.2.x. I need to create a network where my VM can talk to the NFS server. I’ve reviewed some YouTube videos but they’re not very helpful. Any better documentation out there?
Application monitoring provides visibility into integrated applications by collecting application metrics using Nutanix and third-party collectors, providing a single pane of glass for both application and infrastructure data, correlating application instances with virtual infrastructure, and providing deep insights into applications performance metrics. The monitoring integrations dashboard allows you to view information about select applications, such as SQL Server instances, running in the cluster. Before you decide to enable this, there are some pre-requisites that you need to follow. To learn more about the prerequisites, click here and for more information about Application Monitoring, check the Application Monitoring Guide.
I was trying to get AlienVault (OSSIM) to run on Nutanix, but I have hit a road block. I was able to get the install dialog to run after setting the boot to legacy bios. However, after install, It fails to boot.My questions, do any of you use any open source SIMS solution that works in Nutanix?I could accept a SIMS solution at a cost. However, after going through sales with LogRythim and splunk, I was frustrated because both of them incure log ingestion fees. We may have a good budget, but we are limited with our operational cost. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Do you want to import Third Party Appliances on AHV and wondering about following questions? Is my Third-Party Appliance compatible with AHV? What is supported and un-supported? How will I migrate my Appliance to AHV?We have multiple options that can be used to deploy Third Party Appliances on AHV. Third-party application vendors provide different applications or appliances that are certified to run on AHV.Here is the full current list of such applications: Compatibility MatrixNote: Software vendors can utilize this link to request an official software validation on AHVFor more details, refer to KB 9849
When imaging fails for one or more nodes in the cluster, the progress bar turns red and a red check appears next to the hypervisor address field for any node that was not imaged successfully. Possible reasons for a failure include the following: A type of failure was detected. Check connectivity to the IPMI (bare-metal workflow). There are network connectivity issues such as the following: The connection is dropping intermittently. If intermittent failures persist, look for conflicting IPs. [Hyper-V only] SAMBA service is not running. If Hyper-V displays a warning that it failed to mount the install share, restart SAMBA with the command "sudo service smb restart". Foundation ran out of disk space during the hypervisor or Phoenix preparation phase. Free up some space by deleting unwanted ISO images. In addition, a Foundation crash could leave a /tmp/tmp* directory that contains a copy of an ISO image that you can unmount (if necessary) and delete. Foundation requires 9 GB

I may be having a case of the stupids, but I am trying to find the PowerShell cmdlet that will let you pull information of categories assigned to a VM. I’m running the Get-NTNXVM cmdlet but I do not see the category listed for the VM. Additionally, when I run a Get-NTNXTag it returns “No data found”. Does anyone know how I can pull category info for VMs via PowerShell?

Good afternoon everyone.During the integration with Nutanix AHV, I faced the following case -I need to perform the operation of restoring VM to the snapshot state, my questions are:1. how can I do this with API v3?2. may I restore the state of one VM with the snapshot from another one? What are recommendations and best practices exist to do this with API v3? Thanks.

AHV uses Open vSwitch (OVS) to connect the CVM, the hypervisor, and guest VMs to each other and to the physical network. Open vSwitch: OVS is an open source software switch implemented in the Linux kernel and designed to work in a multiserver virtualization environment. By default, OVS behaves like a layer-2 learning switch that maintains a MAC address table. Bridges Bridges act as virtual switches to manage network traffic between physical and virtual network interfaces. The default AHV configuration includes an OVS bridge called br0 and a native Linux bridge called virbr0 Ports Ports are logical constructs created in a bridge that represent connectivity to the virtual switch BondsBonded ports aggregate the physical interfaces on the AHV host. By default, a bond named br0-up is created in bridge br0 VLANs for AHV Hosts and CVMs The recommended VLAN configuration is to place the CVM and AHV in the default “untagged” (or native) VLAN, as shown belo
Hi all !I changed the format of Replication Factor 3 to 2 of my nutanix cluster, everything went well and without problems of my cluster but I have 2 doubts.I'm still seeing this error regarding extent groups and Oplogand the other doubt I have if I change my Replication Factor format from 3 to 2, my Fault Tolerance changes to 1 or is there a command to change my fault Tolerance to 2? I would greatly appreciate your help to correct errors or have more knowledge about nutanix.thanks
Nutanix Era is a suite of software which automates and simplifies database management, bringing one-click simplicity and invisible operations to database provisioning and lifecycle management (LCM). Starting with Copy Data Management (CDM) as its first offering, Nutanix Era enables database admins to provision, clone, refresh and restore their databases to any point in time. Through a rich, but simple to use, UI and CLI, they can restore to the latest application-consistent transactionEra enables you to easily provision database environments (either production or otherwise) on your Nutanix clusters. Also, you can only provision the database server VM that hosts a database, so that you can later create or clone databases on that database server. Some of the components include Database engines: Custom software images that are tailor-made to enterprise needs. Database profiles: Customizable database profiles for software, compute, networking, and database parameters. Database recovery
