Anybody figured out how to convert or modify a Windows Developer image (these ones: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/virtual-machines) to run on Acropolis? Looking to allow these builds to simplify some Developer testing being as they're updated about monthly by Microsoft and include the tools necessary to work within them. The flavors are Hyper-V, VMware, Parallels and VirtualBox. I quickly attempted uploaded the vmdk from the VMware version, but of course get bitten by the virtIO driver necessity with Windows. Trying to review options to copy the drivers into the disk or something, just starting to research. Point being, building from scratch isn't what I'm interested in, I want to be able to simply pull down this image (OVA, OVF, VHD, VMDK) and convert it to KVM/Acropolis...if possible.
Hello, i ran into an error with my OS-Deployment via SCCM on my AHV cluster. I apply the Nutanix related drivers in the Tasksequence with following query: Select * from Win32_ComputerSystem Where Model LIKE "KVM" This worked for me all the time. After i migrated the cluster to AOS5.0 this step is skipped in the tasksequence with a message that says that this condition is FALSE. Could it be, that a newly created vm an a AOS5.0 based cluster displays another Model? My running vms on this cluster still show KVM as modul, so i'm a little bit confused.
We have iSCSI container of 14TB created and presented to MSFT FS cluster using EXTERNAL DATA SERVICES IP ADDRESS. Network - 10Gbps, VMs are in same Nutanix Cluster and ESXi 6.0 is the Hypervisor. 39 node cluster I am seeing Controller Avg I/O Latency of 100+ms. Is this normal!?
Hello, i've realized a project with two nutanix cluster and Horizon VDI with static desktop.Desktop are replicated with protection domain between two sites. Someone know if in Nutanix there is a method to add automatically desktops to a protection domain? Thank you and best regards Luca
Subsequent to the recent VDI Assurance program announcement I published a blog article about what an infrastructure to support 20K to 200K+ Power User desktops might look like on Nutanix. I thought this might be of interest. Not only is this solution incredibly space efficient, what you see is the complete server, storage and network required, but it's also incredibly power efficient. With the new Nutanix VDI Assurance Program it makes any scale VDI even more accessible and beneficial to everyone.
My one of the client would like to use the Nutanix setup from the existing environment but we have purchased 300 licenses for VDI. If we migrated into the nutanix setup whether we can use that existing VDI licenses.
The Nutanix MCS Plug-in seems not to workwith latest VDA release of XenDesktop 7.11. Can you confirm this incompatability? Is there a newer Version of the Plug-in that works with XenDesktop 7.11?
We are performing a POC at a customer site using a 3 node DELL XC720xd cluster. The statistics taken from Vcenter show an average read letency around 1 ms and a write latency aroud 5-6 ms. The write latency seems way too high since it should just make 2 writes (base and replica) on SSD. I wonder if the CVM has a timer before it flushes the pending writes to the oplog. This could help generally speaking to reduce the number of I/O and increase the size which is good for SSD. Unfortunatey in our POC we are fighting against the current configuration of server with Fusion-IO PCI cards and this approach could be a disadvantage. Another important parameter is the logon time which average at 35-40 sec on the current system and goes up to 75 sec with Nutanix. Any suggestion to speed up the Nutanix Cluster may be modifying some parameter?
if I want to select a connection type for connect to Hypervisor Acropolis and Provisioning desktop via using PVS, how i will be to choose the connection type?
Hello there, i'll do my first project on a Nutanix platform and need a little hint. We normaly run XD7.6 LTSR for our sites but i'm not sure about Nutanix MCS integration on this on so far. With 7.9 there is an integration for Desktop Studio after installing the Nutanix plugin. Any possibility to get such an integration for XD7.6? If not. Do you think 7.9 will be the better way? I guess it will be.
