LCM update of Foundation 5.4 consistently fails
Using LCM to update Foundation to version 5.4 I am finding that it consistently fails on Lenovo hardware.I’ve tried two clusters so far that were both at AOS version 6.5.2 but both LCM updates of Foundation to version 5.4 failed.Ominously there is mention in the Field Installation Giude for Foundation 5.4 (link below) that “Software Update” should not be used to update Foundation on Lenovo platforms, and advises to use the command line instead. It worked when using the command line, so my question is: what’s going wrong when LCM attempts this?https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Field-Installation-Guide-v5_4:fie-upgrade-foundation-vm-c.htmlWhat tends to happen is that most nodes except 1 or 2 are successfully updated, with the remaining node neeing to be done by hand from the command line.

Latest AOS 4 so I can continue with upgrade path
Hi…I recently was called from a client with an old nx-1065-g4, and running aos 188.8.131.52 (i asumme was never updated).Solved hardware problem and rebuild the node building phoenix iso from a newer nx and installer from original cvm.I wonder if the latest AOS 4 branch (184.108.40.206) is available somewhere so I can also upgrade the system to a newer 5 or 6 branch, as recommended upgrade path.My client has no support contract. Is it possible to find these old packages? Thanks

Changing password expiration for local user in PE
Hello,I would like to change the password expiration for a local user I have created in the prism element.I’ve tried to change it via the command:nutanix@cvm$ sudo chage -M <MAX-DAYS> admin I’ve managed to do that to the admin user, but when I change “admin” with my local user, It says that the user does not exist in etc/passwd. Is their any way of changing the password expiration for a local user that it is not “admin”.(The user is a cluster admin).
Local Key Manager (LKM) for DaRE
Greetings, Does the Nutanix Local Key Manager (LKM) satisfy the recommendations/requirements to safely implement the Data at Rest Encryption? The documentation at: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Nutanix-Security-Guide-v6_5:wc-security-data-encryption-aos-wc-c.html has the warning: "Caution: DO NOT HOST A KEY MANAGEMENT SERVER VM ON THE ENCRYPTED CLUSTER THAT IS USING IT!! Doing so could result in complete data loss if there is a problem with the VM while it is hosted in that cluster." I too share this concern, which led me to investigate External Key Managers, but I am wondering how does using the LKM alleviate this risk? Also, as stated in the Nutanix Bible as well as here: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/solutions/details?targetId=TN-2026-Information-Security:TN-2026-Information-Security "Now that Nutanix supports its own native LKM, Nutanix also takes the KEK and wraps it with a 256-bit encryption key called the machine encryption key (MEK). The M

Will a VM's MAC Address Change if it migrates from one node to another?
Howdy,We have a VM that is licensed by hardware. We needed to do some after hours work on the network so we shut down the VMs and cluster. When it came back online the software unlicensed itself.Looking at the 4th bullet point has be wondering from this KB: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/kbs/details?targetId=kA03200000099jkCAA Not finding much luck to my question but I was curious if the NIC MAC changes if it moved from one node to another when it came back online? Also is there anyway to see if the system had a prior MAC NIC? Thanks,
