Building a new AHV cluster on Dell XC640's and migrating Hyper-V VM's into AHV
Currently we are expanding our VDI across different VLANs. Ran into F5 issues and working to find a better way to solve DHCP and F5 routing. Anyone heard of a VM not getting a valid IP periodically?

We’ve actually finished moving off our Hyper-V Nutanix and we are now fully running on AHV. Our next goal might be moving off our Azure Stack HCI if AHV continues to outperform it. On top of that we are learning Calm and using the REST API webhooks for management/deployment of VMs.

Nutanix +VDI = Happy end users

Hi there.

We are currently planning a new 4-5 node cluster for our VDI workloads.

Cluster will be populated with G8 nodes (when they are GA) - and equipped with nVidia Ampere Graphics cards.

Hi:

I am trying to find out about how Nutanix can help my company build a VDI environment for traders. In addition to the flexibility of a VDI environment, the emphasis is on delivering high resolution graphics to the traders machines.

The current physical trader set up is as follows:

1 X IPTrade Virtual Turret (Trader phone lines)

8  x 19” Planar monitors

2 X NVIDIA Quadro P2000 Graphics Card (4 ports)

OS Name:                   Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise
System Model:              HP Z6 G4 Workstation
System Type:               x64-based PC
Processor(s):              2 Processor(s) Installed.
                           [01]: Intel64 Family 6 Model 85 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~3192 Mhz
                           [02]: Intel64 Family 6 Model 85 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~3192 Mhz
Total Physical Memory:    64 GB
Network Card(s):           3 NIC(s) Installed.
                           [01]: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection X722 for 1GbE
                           [02]: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection X722
                           [03]: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (3) I219-LM

The applications include Bloomberg, Citrix Receiver based apps, Java based applications, Web based apps (all with graphics intensive requirements). I am trying to determine if Nutanix fits the bill specially with intense graphics needs. Also, I would like to find out what Nutanix components are needed to implement such VDI environment.

What workstations have been approved by Nutanix (HP, Dell, etc.)?

I work in New York City. Any info will be appreciated

Updating to the latest versions on our test and production environment! Trying to figure out what is the "best" way to do this on a regular base.

Busy upgrading all of our clusters with the latest firmware, NCC and AOS (5.10.2).
One-click upgrades work great!!! Just click and wait.

we are preparing the DR site by the Data Protection

Hi all, here studying for NCA and NCP-MCI exams and building a lab with the community edition to get some real world experience and assist with some labs/scenarios I want to test.

Having worked with all the major hypervisors both 3-tier and HCI in various capacities over the past 10 or so years I have not seen such an amazing solution.  I am embarrassed it took this long to figure it out :P.

To those already running in the enterprise I look forward to reading your stores here in the forums.

Cheers!

preparing for NCP and NCAP!

Right now I'm working on upgrading both of our clusters (totaling 11 nodes) to the latest AHV. I'm having to Life Cycle Management for the first time to upgrade the SATA DOM firmware. Hopefully it goes smoothly!
