What are you working on? | Nutanix Community

One of the awesome things about community, is the sharing and learning that can happen. It's always encouraging to see others want to help solve problems they are not directly involved in, offer new idea's to old problems and look for new ways of doing things.

It also helps me connect people who may have similar interests, and can benefit from sharing their experiences.

I thought this would be a great place to share what you are working on, get introduced to the community and let us know how we can help. Add your comments below, and let's begin the conversation.

We have an EPIC community, let's connect and help each other power the next generation of enterprise computing.

Community Manager,
Justin here.. we have one of the largest Nutanix deployments which consists of dozens of clusters, hundreds of nodes and thousands of VMs. Happy to answer any real-world type questions.

Right now we are busy prepping for 4.1.2 to 4.5 upgrade and testing AHV!

Hello all ,

Thanks to @aluciani for adding me here in the nutanix community 🙂 , i hope i can be an added value to this portal …. all my experience in the HCI field was on Dell EMC VxRail so if anyone has any questions regarding it i will be happy to help

Prep for NCA Exam

I am working on becoming a Nutanix Platform Professional. We have a small Nutanix environment with 3 nodes that runs our whole infrastructure. I had many problems, limitations and frustrations before and Nutanix fixed them all with one solution. I love Nutanix and I hope one day to grow into or work in a larger environment so I can use many more of the amazing features offered by Nutanix. I have also been waiting for the new features to be released so I can move away from VMware. As soon as my licenses are up for renewal, I will be getting the Nutanix Pro license so I can convert my VMs from VMware to Acropolis.
We are working on building VDI infrastructure on top of Nutanix.
Good luck, ! We completed our upgrade last week and it went smooth - no issues. Here's hoping you guys are as lucky.
Hi All

Having just completed a POC and moving away from traditional stacks of compute and storage, it would be wrong not to try the market leaders offerings:)

Awaiting delivery of purchased kit and onto a new chapter with hyperconverged.:)

🙂
We just finished migrating our last remote site off of old hardware and onto a Nutanix cluster. In addition just updated both our our datacenters to a new version of AOS, as well as esxi using the one click upgrade!
We are currently working on migrating our existing Vmware platform to Nutanix
AFS migration
Hi everyone!

We'll be migrating our datacenter to a colo using Nutanix later this year. As I'm brand new to Nutanix the first step for me will be quickly learning as much as possible. After perusing some of the other discussions it looks like jjdurrant had some excellent recommendations to get started:

- Nutanix Bible

- nu.School YouTube Channel

- longwhiteclouds

- Self Paced Study (Once I get access)

- NEXT community, of course!

The goal is to hit the ground running. I look forward to learning from you, and one day returning the favor!
Exploring Calm and Flow..
I'm already using AHV hyervisor. Feeling free from unwanted downtime. Placed 10 more Blocks ordered to replace entrie IT infrastructure to Nutanix
Planning to deploy a new home lab to evaluate Nutanix Files.
Going to implement a 3 node CE cluster for demo and test...But only got 2x100GB SSD's for each node, and some spinning disks..

Trying to get Nutanix CE for my 4-node home lab (having some experience with Nutanix already 🙂 )

Playing with the Nutanix CE at home. About 60% into migrating VMs from the 3 tier infrastructure to Nutanix NX1175s. Getting quotes to buy one more node.

Hello to all.

Like many others here, I am trying to get my feet wet with Nutanix CE.  In my case, this is my attempt at learning about the technology in preparation for an actual production deployment coming up soon at my place of work.

I intend to use two DELL PCs with SSD/HDD combo.  Each has a quad-core i7 and 16GB RAM.

Looking forward to learning and maybe eventually even pursue a certification.

Hello everyone, discovering Nutanix world. As solution architect I have to develop the better offer for our customers, and Nutanix have such of very interesting features that could easily be intagrated.

I hope this is just the beginning of a long adventure.

Planning the move from ESXi to AHV

Im working on a horizon 7.x implementation on my Nutanix platform.

After a year away, I am starting over with a new company with Nutanix.  This time on HPE hardware.

Spec’d and ordered, received and configured the first cluster and working on the next two now.  Three Datacenters will work as primary Prod, Primary Dev/Test and DR.  Can’t wait to get replicating.

Hello all,

I am from Germany. Started a month ago the udacity nano degree for Hybrid Cloud Engineer.

I am working with vmware since years doing administration and installation for clients. During the past few years learned much more about cloud and Kubernetes and did my CKA.

Now learning more about Nutanix I joined here to get my own lab environment started and prepare for future customers after I finished my nano degree .

Kind regards

Stephan
