I try to deploy Nutanix in 3 nodes (Fujitsu) using Foundation VM , 

Every node have 4 NIC , 2 NIC to every switch , (Nexus 3548-x), IPMI connected to other CISCO switch 

We will install ESXi as hypervisor , 

The deployment fail , when i follow up in node console , it fail after creation bond and try to connect to foundation VM 

My question are :

it should be connection between AOS to foundation VM IP ?

what is best practices for configuration in two nexus switches and cisco switch , for example , all 10g in nexus switch are trunk ports , native vlan is cvm vlan … what i need more to do ?

 

We usually do the Foundation on flat switch , one port (shared port) , or one 10g and ipmi port from each node on the same flat 10 g switch plus your laptop, ipv6 must be enabled on the switch, after the foundation be finished, connect your nodes to production switches and start network configuration.

As Moustafa said it is often easier to foundation on a simple flat network before moving to production, though I tend to have to build in production and when using lacp etc I rely on fallback on the switch side to have it both ways.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Normally During the foundation i used Flat Unmanaged switch and never get failed. after the foundation i connect with production network.

some of the key tips. 

  • Confirm if the servers has shared network port (IPMI, Network), if yes then use this port only. if no then connect two cables 1 for IPMI and 1 for network 
  • Keep Your Laptop IP in the same range if you are using Windows Foundation app. if you are using Foundation VM then keep laptop & Foundation VM ip in same range.
  • Disable Windows Firewall or antivirus with Network protection / filtering disable it during the foundation as foundation media will not be mounted on the hosts.

every server have only 1G port as IPMI the other ports are 10G as network 

When i try to make this port as shared LAN , i lost the connection , then i return it back to be IPMI

in my case , i need to use the production switch to complete the installation ? 

Put the IPMI and 10G port from each node on the flat switch instead of shared port

You have to connect 1 port from IPMI and 1 Port Network from each node. I would suggest to use flat switch to avoid any failures. 

I've been deploying some Fujitsu XF8055 nodes this week too. 

 

Definitely recommend separating use of the irmc/ipmi and dedicated ports to avoid the blip on boot when you lose it.

In the simplest configuration I'd suggest you to have the ipmi and a 10g port into the same switch as your foundation setup to get past this point.
