Hi,
Are there any best practice recommedations for connecting storage from Dell Compellent SAN storage to an existing Nutanix deployment?
Thanks

Hello,
could you tell a little bit more about your design?
Which Hypervisor? What Hardware Vendor? and so on...
best regards,
Thomas

Assuming you're running VMW ESXi or Hyper-V, Nutanix actually has no impact on connecting a Compellent SAN, or anything other SAN, to ESXi or Hyper-V. The recommended practices would be the same from that vendors side.
Obviously if you had to add something like a FC-HBA card to the system to make that connection, we would not "support" that card if something goes wrong. You can see our support stance on 3rd party components here: http://www.nutanix.com/support/support-faqs/#non-nutanix-qualified-3rd-party-components
For AHV, we do not allow hypervisor level storage connections outside of Nutanix, however, you can absolutely do things like in-guest iSCSI from the Guest to the SAN, as Nutanix is not a part of that transaction/relationship.
