Is it possible to recover data from an overwritten entity - does the overwritten VM or its storage still exist anywhere?
I'm asking as I recovered a VM from a backup but realised in hindsight that the logs from the VM in its failed state would be useful for diagnosing the issue.

Thanks in advance.

In this case, I’m afraid the data is lost. What happens is that baseline data is merged with the snapshot data (and everything in between), unfortunately.

Hi @Liam1388

Could you describe the method of VM recovery, please? From a third-party backup? From a snapshot? Was it in guest data recovery or full VM recovery?

Thanks for the reply. It was restored to a weekly snapshot from its Protection Domain, using the Overwrite option within Prism.
