Nutanix Flow: Major points on best practices for single-cluster security

We want to configure Nutanix Flow Security for which we would like to whether we need to consider configuring anything major on NTX Flow networking side or the micro segmentation will do the intended job ?

Hi Divya,

Nutanix Flow Networking (VPC) and Security (Micro-segmentation)  are two different context, unless if you planning to use them both together there is nothing stopping you to use it.

Flow Networking gives you software defined network virtualization (similar to cloud providers like azure, aws and gcp) as Virtual Private Cloud and VPN.

Flow Security is micro-segmentation solution providing policy-based inter VM security.

You can use Flow Security v1 for VLAN backed networks on Nutanix AHV, in case you are using VPC (Flow Networking ) you have to use Flow Security v2.

You can refer to documentation available on portal for more details.

You need Prism Central for both of them to configure and manage.
