Nutanix recommends that you use the Prism Life Cycle Manager to perform firmware updates. However, firmware must be updated manually if:

  1. The component is located in a single-node cluster, OR
  2. The component is located in a multi-node cluster, but the hypervisor the cluster is running does not support LCM firmware updates.

Manual Upgrades:

  1. Manually Updating SATA DOM Firmware
  2. Manually Updating M.2 RAID Hypervisor Boot Drive Firmware
  3. Manually Updating the BMC and BIOS
  4. Manually Updating HBA Controller Firmware
  5. Manually Updating Data Drive Firmware
  6. Manually Updating NIC Firmware
