According to our security team, those URLs are white listed, so they must be down.

e.g.
"release-api.nutanix.com could not be reached. Please check Name Server and Proxy settings"

Since .compute* is the external general DNS for AWS I think there would be much heartache if it was down. insights looks up to me as I get "I-AM-ALIVE" from https://insights.nutanix.com/ myself. Maybe a specific host in a pool was acting up? Can you be more specific about the error you are getting?

Not sure about release-api as that isn't registeres and may be an old doc? Are you getting those as failures on a proxy or from prismgateway.log?
