@ch3mical I am not very clear from where you are copying and where you are planning to paste. But if your hypervisors are esxi and you want to be able to copy to the consoel fo the Vm, then you can probably change Vm options as explained in: Enable content Copy/Paste between VMRC client and Windows/Linux Virtual Machine (57122)

For AHV, as it is I do not know of any option to do so, but I will  research a bit more to see if it there is an option. I the mean time if you exactly say where you exactly copy from and where you want to paste it, it may help.

Trying to copy paste text to a VM in console mode in AHV. ESX you can.

@ch3mical I checked, as I suspected we do not have this function supported for VM remote console in AHV, but there are requests to engineering to make this capability possible, especially in light of the fact that other hypervisors offer this functionality. I added my comments to it but it would help if more folks like yourself open cases with our support and request for enhancement  (just a thought), so it can actually be implemented as soon as possible.

Two years passed and it seems that this feature still isn’t integrated. As we have strong local admin passwords it’s quite a pain to type those passwords. So it would be really great to be able to paste text between the local client into the AHV VM Console into the password field or after login copy other text into a notepad or something.

Please integrate this feature!

Hi @MCH_ICT ,

I definitely know that Jennifer Rowland and team have this in development right now, we had an feature-poll for all NTCs about this topic! Maybe Rachel Chang can provide some details about the status right now.

Thank you @ThomasD

That would be cool to have this feature soon on board!
