What are you working on? | Nutanix Community

One of the awesome things about community, is the sharing and learning that can happen. It's always encouraging to see others want to help solve problems they are not directly involved in, offer new idea's to old problems and look for new ways of doing things.

It also helps me connect people who may have similar interests, and can benefit from sharing their experiences.

I thought this would be a great place to share what you are working on, get introduced to the community and let us know how we can help. Add your comments below, and let's begin the conversation.

We have an EPIC community, let's connect and help each other power the next generation of enterprise computing.

Azure Pack on Nutanix - Private Cloud.
We've finished building our 4.6 cluster with Metro and XenDesktop 7.8. For now we want to complete all our acceptance tests and close every issue ticket with Dell and Nutanix.Added a Feature request for Prism Central, because we want to see if one datacenter failed. Or manual stopped for mainanance reasons. Still working on CRC errors and esxi 6.0 host timeouts. Things will getting better and better.About two months we want to migrate our two old vmware farms to Nutanix 🙂 Plenty of resources left.
Standing up VDI clusters as fast as we can purchase them. Stood up Splunk clusters. Starting to move more server workloads to the platform
Hi all,

We have few things underway at the moment:

  • Moving our Oracle RAC test/dev database cluster from Dell hardware to Nutanix/AHV
  • Migrating our production fileservers (approx 30TB's) from Dell hardware to Nutanix/VMware
  • Migrating from our expired Dell hardware our Hyper-V test/dev VM's to Nutanix/Hyper-V
  • Migrating from our expired Dell hardware our Hyper-V production VM's to Nutanix/VMware
  • Migrating our MS SQL 2008 R2 cluster from Dell hardware to MS SQL 2012 Always On running on Nutanix/VMware

Cheers,

Justin
Hi all,

i'm just bringing up a solution for a decentralized VDI in our branchoffices via Nutanix with XenDesktop.
I'm working on learning to use the Foundation tool to image new nodes. Prism images new nodes using the default memory on the CVM and adds the node to the cluster. SInce our current configuration requires more memory on the CVMs than the default, adding these lower memory CVMs to the cluster causes us problems.
Creating powershell script to automate faiolver of Mertro-availabilty.Creating powershell script rollback VM's to previous snapshot;
Upgrading to 4.7.1 this weekend.
I use Revello to have my own Nutanix box to play with, and then we have nutanix in labs and in production. I want to play with AHV and openvswitch more.
Going to start a POC on Data Protection groups. Before we make any more investment into nutanix, we want to see the replication and failover work. I will also will sneak in an AWS backup and load migration by using Ravello.
About to take delivery of a 3-node SX-1065-G5 device for hosting our SaaS application. Looking forward to getting hands on the platform.
I'm working in migrating VMs running in old HP environment to Nutanix Infrastructure with No Down-Time 🙂
We have migrated VM's to Nutanix AHV, working on upgrading to 2012R2 and O365. Then and RDP server for our accounting package.
Our new all flash system arrived this week! super excited to see them enter production over the next few weeks!!
Currently we are currently undertaking a migration of our on-premise datacentre to a co-lo facility running on Nutanix and also developing a site delivery model based on Nutanix and AHV for our 80+ remote sites within the UK...plenty to keep me busy over the next few months! 🙂
We are currently doing a POC in my Singapore office and working to place one in my Germany offices. If all goes well, they will join my North America datacenters and be fully on Nutanix platform. Then I can work on migrating from ESX to AHV. Good times.
Working on migrating our servers from a VMWare Cluster to Nutanix AHV.
Sounds cool - You may also want to upload your scripts to the Scripts section on the Community site
Our team is working on a plan to replace almost our entire data center presense with Nutanix technology with a stretch goal to move to 100% AHV. We are also very interested to put a smaller size cluster in some of our remote, but critical manufacturing facilities all around the world !
It's going to be great. We are 100% nutanix in our datacenters (for the virtualization platform) and Lots of remote clusters in our site. It's just awesome technology.
We are working on automatic machines deployment on AHV Nutanix hosts ! Platform description, Provisionning, Pxe boot and voilĂ  !

We are currently migrating from a 3 tier solution to Nutanix.

Around 70 migrations completed so far and have around 150 VMs and around 40 physicals still to migrate. Hardest part of the migration is getting the downtime agreed from users as we are a 24/7 hospital.

We are going to reuse some of the physical servers to build Nutanix test cluster using the community edition.

I am working on virtualization, storage and networking. Mostly on high availability platforms. I was also working on 3 node Nutanix CE over a nested ESXI 5.5 test bed. We also have 3 node Nutanix Hyper-V cluster in production.
