What AES encryption does Nutanix SNMP use? | Nutanix Community

Hi.

I’m setting up SNMP in Nutanix for inventory purposes and in the inventory tool I need to specify which level of AES to use; AES-128, AES-192 or AES-256.

I’ve tried all of them and still can’t get any information out of the cluster.

If I use a tool like Paesslers SNMP Tester I can connect, but I don’t know what version of AES that uses either.

Hello again.

It works now, and unfortunately I’m not sure what I did differently. I re-entered all the information for the connection and now it works.

To answer my own question, I selected AES-128 - which I’ve tried before - and it’s possible that all three options works and that I just provided incorrect information elsewhere.

Hey, @Martin Edelius So as of now Nutanix only supports AES-128 bit encryption for the privacy key phrase for SNMP.

But not sure what version of AES encryption your tool uses.

Hope this helps.

hey @Martin Edelius , yes that's the correct setting. So sorry I didn’t notice your second reply on this.

Thanks @AnishWalia20 for confirming my guess.

Hey @Martin Edelius , Perfect. Let me know if I can help in any other way.
