Graceful Shutdown of Nutanix Cluster using Vertiv Liebert UPS

I have read the documents and manuals of APC PowerChute Network but it is a scenario that doesn’t apply to mean. Apparently, someone sold to the customer a Vertiv Liebert GXT4 UPS. Liebert’s engineers concluded that the product couldn’t provide a graceful shutdown of the Nutanix cluster, while it could shutdown the ESXi on top.

Is there anyone out there who had succeeded in performing a graceful shutdown without APC?

Hey, @Mann Wai adding to my friend Prizmy’s suggestion. I checked internally I think we don’t have any option for that as of now nor did I find any supporting document on our portal.

Another procedure which you can try is:

From CVM
1. Shut down guest VMs which are powered on. Or have guest VM monitor Vertiv Liebert GXT4 UPS network management card to shut down from guest VM
2. Wait for all guest VMs to have power state=off
3. Shut down CVM by using by logging into each CVM one by one and executing this command “cvm_shutdown -P now “.
4. Shut down AHV hosts

The above is a standard procedure to shutdown and Nutanic cluster gracefully.
