permission to a folder inside smb share

HI,

Actually i am able to create folder using nfs whitelist in the nutanix smb share but not able to see the option for that.Then i came to know that we cannot give permission like that for the folder in the nutanix share.is that true.currently we shared a volume from one vm as share.

yes, you would stand up a virtual file server like you would on any generic virtual infrastructure, and serve files from there for the time being

so the current option in existing nos version is to create a a share from virtual machine using hypervisor and share it right

Are you trying to put user profiles on the NFS share?

If so, that is not supported. We will be coming out with a file services feature shortly, expected in 4.6, that will allow you to host SMB shares within Nutanix without any 3rd party solution,

HI Jon,

Actually my collegue was implementing citrix vdi in the nutanix 1050 block.And he want to give different permission to different people..So he created folder for that and when tried to give permission its not showing the option.Please advise whther we can give permission like that to a folder

Hey  - I'm not clear on what you are trying to do.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Are you trying to use Nutanix as an SMB Share, like a NAS? or something else?
