One of the awesome things about community, is the sharing and learning that can happen. It's always encouraging to see others want to help solve problems they are not directly involved in, offer new idea's to old problems and look for new ways of doing things.

It also helps me connect people who may have similar interests, and can benefit from sharing their experiences.

I thought this would be a great place to share what you are working on, get introduced to the community and let us know how we can help. Add your comments below, and let's begin the conversation.

We have an EPIC community, let's connect and help each other power the next generation of enterprise computing.

Hi:

I am trying to find out about how Nutanix can help my company build a VDI environment for traders. In addition to the flexibility of a VDI environment, the emphasis is on delivering high resolution graphics to the traders machines.

The current physical trader set up is as follows:

1 X IPTrade Virtual Turret (Trader phone lines)

8  x 19” Planar monitors

2 X NVIDIA Quadro P2000 Graphics Card (4 ports)

OS Name:                   Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise
System Model:              HP Z6 G4 Workstation
System Type:               x64-based PC
Processor(s):              2 Processor(s) Installed.
                           [01]: Intel64 Family 6 Model 85 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~3192 Mhz
                           [02]: Intel64 Family 6 Model 85 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~3192 Mhz
Total Physical Memory:    64 GB
Network Card(s):           3 NIC(s) Installed.
                           [01]: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection X722 for 1GbE
                           [02]: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection X722
                           [03]: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (3) I219-LM

The applications include Bloomberg, Citrix Receiver based apps, Java based applications, Web based apps (all with graphics intensive requirements). I am trying to determine if Nutanix fits the bill specially with intense graphics needs. Also, I would like to find out what Nutanix components are needed to implement such VDI environment.

What workstations have been approved by Nutanix (HP, Dell, etc.)?

I work in New York City. Any info will be appreciated

Hello to all.

Like many others here, I am trying to get my feet wet with Nutanix CE.  In my case, this is my attempt at learning about the technology in preparation for an actual production deployment coming up soon at my place of work.

I intend to use two DELL PCs with SSD/HDD combo.  Each has a quad-core i7 and 16GB RAM.

Looking forward to learning and maybe eventually even pursue a certification.
