Implementing new Nutanix hardware (3 additional nodes) to existing cluster and then implementing Nutanix Xi Frame to run virtual desktops.

Move last few Dev/Test VMs from Azure back to our on-prim Nutanix servers.

Busy studying for my NCM exam. Time to level up from NPP, NCP, NCP-MCI.

Nutanix Newb here - we will be migrating from existing vmware hypervisor 5.x to Nutanix cluster also on vmare initially before then looking at potential AHV. Interested to know if anyone has had any issues migrating a large RDS 2012 R2 Farm in this manner?

If not - i'll know soon enough 😁

our company just purchase Nutanix 2 years ago and we are using dell hardware, so  I am still learning especially when it comes to Nutanix and  Veeam backup

extensively performing testing of our nutanix cluster and preparinng myself for NCP.

Working on reimaging some old G4 nodes with ESXi as a test.

Hello community,

I am working on a project for a non-profit IT education organization - we need to build out a Windows 7/10 VDI environment for classes of 16 students, typically two virtual machines per student. We need the ability to spin-up the virtual machines on demand/at the beginning of class and revert back to a clean state at the end of class.

a co-worker at my day job suggested that I check out the community edition of Nutanix Acropolis - I'm going to try and get something setup this weekend to see if it's a viable solution.

If anyone has deployed a solution similar to this in the past, any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks!

Josh

We are working on building VDI infrastructure on top of Nutanix.

Things coming up - Runbooks, Xi Leap, Xi Beam and stabilizing the environment. We have more teams coming onboard with our on premise clusters and excitement going on with teams involved. Looking forward to a great year with Nutanix!
Reacquainting myself with Nutanix to help understand deployment and architecture considerations with Veeam. I am a Veeam Enterprise Systems Engineer.

Traning!

Currently rolling out  a files deployment.  The initial set up and installation was pretty smooth with the exception of getting file analytics to work.  Had some issues with authentication, reached out to support for help on that and found that some of the internal networking components was creating trouble for us.  We had to get an engineer on the line that made some modifications to the OVM and got it working.  Other then that small hiccup, smooth sailing with the help of the fine engineer.

Look at implementing Nutanix Files.

Hello-

In the process of setting up a bake-off between Nutanix(on Lenovo), HPE Simplivity, & VxRail(Dell/VMware). Anybody done this already, and would care to share their results?

Thanks,

Justin
New to the forum. I am an SE for Veeam Software working on the Nutanix AHV integration. Currently working with a partner to obtain a Nutanix Server for testing/demo of the Veeam AHV product. Came here to get the CE for my own home lab.
Working on a few updates to my powershell daily report that collects info from the API.. collecting all the cluster information we need on a daily basis, and integrating AFS/Files into the report..

With the lack of WMI (obviously), our automated file management tool needs to know how much space there is on a given AFS namespace and share before directing files to it.. so trying to get that out also - and to use it to update the management tool DB that holds SMB shares and their free space (which is usually updated via WMI) ;)

( And yes.. before you ask.. below is a screenie of the current email content, all created via and emailed by powershell (including the graph))

I went to .Next last month and recently finished the online training for ECA 5.5. Looking to take my NCP exam next.
Hi! Just getting into Nutanix, but I've been doing VMware and other virtualization for a long time. We have a small cluster here at my new job, and I hope to make the most of it: both for productivity for the team and for my personal growth.
