I am delighted to announce the winners of Total Recode - Nutanix Coding Challenge. First, thanks to all of you for participating and showcasing your skills and creativity. It was inspiring to see the diverse level of submissions.
The Challenge included using Nutanix Community Edition and building a script in your favorite language which solves a real world problem in the following use cases;
Data protection, disaster recovery and runbook automation
Most scripts/code start out when we need to find a solution to our challenges. It's when we share that script/code to the community that we find are not alone and that others have the same challenges. It's great to see the sharing and collaborating among this outstanding community.
Here are the winners for the Total Recode - Nutanix Coding Challenge 2015
This script is a Powershell-based GUI to collect host, network, and storage configuration for deploying the Nutanix CE as a nested hypervisor on ESXi. The tool can deploy 1-4 nodes and each node can have a distinct configuration.
Here’s a sample script I created to automate as much as possible a planned failover from a Primary DC to DR DC. It uses a CSV file for some inputs such as Cluster name, vDS name, if the VM is critical, etc.
A simple and easy to use PowerShell script to diagram your NTNX infrastructure. All you need to have is Office Visio 2013 on your workstation (haven't tested it with 2010). I hope it will help IT consultant avoiding some boring tasks during the customer report.
Congratulations to the winners, you will receive your prizes shortly. I also encourage many of you to reach out to these folks, they are part of our community and willing to help where they can.
If you have any scripts/code, I encourage you to continue to add them to this repository in the weeks and months ahead. You never know who it might help.
We plan on having the winner on the Nutanix Community podcast to discuss all things scripting and coding and particiapting in the Recode Challenge - so stay tuned.
