G'day one and all,

We're a new nutanix site and have been migrating machines from our previous HyperVisor over to Acropolis/KVM.

Our older servers have been no problems at all, 2003 and 2008 servers. however all our 2012R2 servers are having problems where the storage drivers are not being seen.

To test I have tried a new install ont a VM from install DVD. Driver load screens comes up and I point it to the correct location on the nutanix VirtIO drivers ISO image. All drivers are seen, i.e. shows the correct drivers to load, but when selected and goes to load the drivers, and error stating "No new device drivers were found. Make sure installation media contains the correct drivers"

The VM Disk is configured as scsi

Regards,

stephen...

Hey - Can you make a support ticket with our support team? They can walk you through this, and if we have some sorta driver issue, they can pull in engineering and get it fixed.

Thanks

I had logged this with DELL Support 2 days ago and seem to be hitting brick walls with them. I had asked when I logged the case for it to have been passed through to you guys as yet nothing. Spent another 3 hours on phone again today with one of their LVL 2 guys (who was great) only to reiterate my findings yet again and who was supposed to have logged a ticket with Nutyanix support, as yet nothing has shown up in my support portal this end.

So very frustrated as this is blocking me on this weekends migration we have scheduled and have been wrestling this issue since last weekend.

Checked out the case, looks like there is some interaction between you guys and support, which is good.

Tricky problem, I'm curious to know the outcome, as I haven't had this problem on AHV myself.

Hi, same issue here, do you have any update?

- In looking at the previous case notes for this one in our support system, it seems like this was more complex than it appears here, so I'm guessing you're not hitting the exact same issues this other user was.

Can you expand on exactly whats going wrong?

Hi Jon , thanks for you get interested on this.
I was working with support and problem was netkvm driver. We needed to install network driver that came with VirtIO 0.1.118 because there is a known bug regarding VMs NIC.

Just sharing, I'm using virtio-win-0.1.102 and found no issue regarding iscsi, nic and balloon driver on AHV
I've been using it for
- Windows 2012R2 Standard/Dacen
- Windows 2008R2 Standard/Enterprise/Dacen
- Windows 7 32/64 All Edition
