Hi,I upgraded Calm vm from 3.7.2.1 to 3.7.2.2 but now I read from release notes of calm vm 3.8 that isn’t possible to upgrade from 3.7.2.2 to 3.8.How can I safetely remove calm vm 3.7.2.2 and reinstall the version 3.8?Thanks Regards

We're new to using Calm for automation/orchestration and I'm looking to get additional information/guidance on how we can leverage the Nutanix REST APIs during our virtual workload PreCreate/PostDelete tasks. I under how to work with the HTTP Task itself, but I'm not quite sure how to chain them together in such a way that it would work. They function as I would want individually, via the Test functionality for each HTTP Task.The first three cases we're trying to get to work to get our feet wet include: During Package Install, leverage Prism Central REST APIv3 vms to GET the complete spec of the newly created VM; modify that Response to update the Description; and set (PUT) the updated Spec with the modified Description as desired. During Package Install, graceful shutdown of the new virtual workload and removal of the second CD-ROM drive that is added (ide.3) to hold the 'unattend.xml' file.

Hi All, I am in the progress of launching a blueprint via CALM. However encountered the IP not found error. How do we add the IP address to the Blueprint VM Configuration? Have filled up all possible network related fields: Network adapters (NICS) : NIC 1 - VLAN0 Connection: Address - NIC 1 From the logs: Waiting for 60 seconds to finish the guest customization Reapplying micro segmentation categories Waiting for VM a2b28676-fa5d-4ab3-a1bb-04cdc9351727 to get an IP ERROR: Failed to get an IP for the VM a2b28676-fa5d-4ab3-a1bb-04cdc9351727 It seems that it is stuck in the Guest customization issue. Should I be adding an ip address in the script? Thank you!

Hi sir I have three devices. Model is NX-1175S-G8The networks of the three NXs will be connected to a 10G switch.This 10G switch will be connected to a 1G switch.Each NX is connected to the switch with two network cables.The function is to use NCM. However, after setting up more than 30 VMs, the network will be disconnected seriously. It is found that it will be stuck on the 10G switch. However, if the port connected to NX is limited to 1G, it will work normally.But the device will send out a warning message.CVM not uplinked to 10GbE NICIt was detected that the Nutanix packets were very large, causing the 10G switch to be unable to handle the load.(about 1.61Gbps)Because there is only one line going up to the 1G switchI have tried another brand of 10G switch, but the problem is the same.If the 10G switch and the 1G switch do not use lacpHow can I a

Hi everyone, In our environment, we want everyone (not just members of a specific project) to be able to launch a given blueprint when needed. Right now, blueprints appear to require being tied to a project, which limits visibility and use. Is there a way to make a blueprint globally accessible to all users/groups without restricting it to one project? Or assign the blueprint to multiple projects?Also, we’d like to enforce category assignment as part of the VM creation process. Ideally, users should be required to select or fill in a category value before deploying a VM. Can this be achieved somehow?Thanks in advance!

Hi!I’m looking for an out of the box integration of AAP to import/install in the Self Service, to get inventories, credentials, job templates, … from our AAP, to be able to launch job templates from Self Service (and retrieve the result of jobs :)). This way I can automate some tasks, like post-provisioning tasks after VM deployment or some day2 actions.Regards,Fred

Hi everyone,I am creating a Multi VM Blueprint and I have a post-creation task. This task should be executed once per deployment, but since it is a post-VM-creation task, it is executed n times for n deployed machines from the blueprint.Do you have any ideas how to make the the task execute only once after the deployment of the application, and not multiple times for every VM?Thanks in advance!

Hello Nutanix Community,I am developing a self-service runbook (python scripts) in Prism Central to implement a time-based GPU billing model, allowing administrators to attach a GPU to a VM for a specific duration.The Core QuestionIs there a supported or known method (API-driven or otherwise) to dynamically populate a Runbook Input Variable (specifically a List of Values/Dropdown) at runtime, based on a query to the Prism API?For example: Could a pre-run script execute a gpus/list query to determine available vGPU profiles and format that output to populate the options list for the gpu_profile_selection variable before the form is presented to the user?

Hi Community,We are working on enhancing our automation flows in Nutanix Self-Service blueprints and would like some guidance on the best way to approach two things:Enable memory overcommit automatically for every VM deployed from a blueprint: Our goal is that VMs should always have this applied at deployment time without requiring manual adjustment later. Ensure category assignment is mandatory for deployed VMs: We would like to implement a check so that if a VM doesn’t have a category assigned during creation, the workflow requires a category before it can proceed. Is there a preferable script type or approach for implementing these checks and automations within Self-Service? Any suggestions on best practices - especially regarding script selection - would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hi all!I’m writing a runbook with tasks that needs to use different endpoints from different Nutanix Projects. This seems to be impossible, so I want to check in with the community to see if I’m doing something wrong. :)I can create an endpoint without “assigning” it to a specific project, but this doesn’t matter since I have to define a project when creating a runbook. This means that I can only use endpoints that are assigned to the project the runbook is using.An endpoint can only be assigned to one project so assigning an endpoint to multiple projects is not an option.One possible (as well as very clunky and cumbersome) workaround would be to create identical endpoints for every project that needs access to it, but all endpoints must be uniquely named which makes this even more of a nightmare.Is what I want to do at all possible?Thanks.

This question has been asked a few times on this forum but has never been fully answered.When i try to delete a disk image, I get an error:Attribute _app_blueprint_template not set I can not find any mention of this attribute anywhere, and I can’t find any other way to delete the image. I tried the API method from this post but it has the same result.What’s the trick here?  

How do I get the Hostname/IP of a service running in an application?I assume that by querying the api for the app object /apps/{uuid}, I would get the list of the services and therefore get the uuid of the vm.  But I can seem to find the vm uuid.Any ideas ?

Hi all, I am working on a DevOps platform for a client and considering recommending Calm to automate the provision of TeamCity builds if the build queue meets a condition (i.e. if 15 builds in queue then spin up 5 build agents and add them to the pool). Has anyone done this with Calm ?
