In Prism Central, the resource usage of VMs in the cluster is displayed, but the disk usage is not. I think is that the disk usage may be display after a few moment of time has passed. Is it normal if the resource utilization of all VMs should be displayed immediately? Or how long does it take to display? For example, is there a document saying "In Prism Central, the CPU and MEM usage of the VM are output immediately, but in the case of disk usage, it takes some time to be output"? In the current Prism Element, the resource usage of VMs is immediately reflected. All resource usage rates such as CUP, MEM, and DISK are output. However, in Prism Central, just disk usage rate cannot be display.
Our 5-node Nutanix Mine with Veeam is using the default 75% as the watchdog capacity. The Nutanix Mine administration guide mentions paramters associated with this:restart_jobs_threshold_percentcancel_jobs_threshold_percentstop_issuing_jobs_threshold_percentand advises customers should contact support if they wish to tweak these. My question is this: Which organisation’s support covers this? Veeam or Nutanix?
Hello,We recently purchased 2 x NX-8235N-G8-CM (total of 4 nodes), which will be explicitly used as storage servers.I am having some trouble performing the initial configuration and wondering if I could get some support as I am stuck. This would be my first time setting up a Nutanix device and not sure where to begin.I did try to use the Nutanix Foundation, but no luck while trying to follow what was done here: I do have few questions regarding Foundation though. What I did:Plug in the new devices’s IPMI/data port to a dummy switch (IPMI/HOST IP will be on same subnet) Plug in my laptop with a prod IP address (i.e. 10.8.1.0.24) to switch Launch Nutanix Foundation for Windows Follow what was done in the above videos with my IP addressesNote: I am not running any DHCP nor did I set any static IP for IPMI/AHV/CVM. I read that AHV is already installed for devices sold in the US; however, not sure if the CVM is already installed though. The setup process does ask for manual entries for IPMI/
Hello , I have two questions in “Network Segmentation logically”:I have 3 nodes (ESXi) with standard switch for every node , and i need to do logically network segregation to separate MGMT from CVM traffic The tasks which is need to be done in vCenter is 1- Create 2 port groups 1 for MGMT and the other for CVM traffic every one with different vlan Now ,1- I need to move CVM nic0 to MGMT port group and CVM nic2 to CVM traffic port group ? or Nutanix do this step ?2- From Nutanix configuration part , i need to add the vlan ID in “Backplane LAN Configuration Dialogue” or it is enough when i add the vlan ID in vCenter port groups?
We are underway of evaluation XI Frame framework. We have create shortcut to the separate pages from the chrome (“Create shortcut...”) option in order to allow users to open chrome with predefined URL for example: Support or Tutorial web page. After onboarding shortcuts and publishing image we configured Launchpad to run in Application mode. When we open Launchpad by URL from the user side we can see onboarded shortcuts but unable to open chrome with predefined link.

My Prism Central cluster (PC Scaleout) running version pc.2022.6.0.1 has ben generating Tasks related to Reports every few seconds - see screenshot below. This has been occurring for several days now and I don’t know if it’s normal or not - does anyone else experience this?
Hello,I’m using Commvault to back up our Nutanix file server cluster. I have provisioned a SQL database with 200 GB. ERA will mount the disks and distribute the files on different point points. I have Enabled auto extend on database level. what will happened if the mount points got full. Will it auto extend or do we need to extend by our self.
We have a subset of VMs that a group of users needs readonly and console access. This is not difficult with RBAC using categories. However, when we clone these systems for testing or new deployment, the assigned categories don’t get inherited from the source VM. Since we do this often, this is a management headache. Is this standard behavior? If so, any ideas on how to do this easily? I was hoping projects might be helpful, but I can’t find much useful documentation or examples to guide me.
Our current Nutanix infrastructure has been a bit neglected for a while, AOS, PC, NCC, etc have been kept up to date but not firmware\bios or hypervisor so I need to get these done.Current infrastructure is nothing massive, two clusters one 4 node one 3 running on NX-8035-G6 and NX-8035-G7, both are AOS 5.20.4. We have one PC running at the latest version and its sitting on a separate Management vSphere cluster along with vCenter. Hypervisor is currently ESXi 7.0 Update 2a 17867351 on all hosts, this is Standard Edition so NO DRS ☹ My plan is to upgrade the firmware and BIOS etc via the LCM on the smaller of the two clusters. I have freed up one host so there aren’t any VM’s on it apart from the CVM. I take it I can just run the LCM to do the firmware updates on that host and let it do its thing without having to do anything else, it’ll shut down the CVM maintenance mode the host and restart it?Once that is complete I want to upgrade ESX on that host. I have checked the compatibil
Hi.There is no example of a schema for the Launch marketplace item API call due to the schema being too large. Can someone please provide me with either a schema that I can use “as-is” for launching a blueprint via the marketplace or an example schema that I can base my call on?Thanks!

Hi all.I have a single-VM blueprint that I want to launch using the “Launch blueprint” API call. The schema for this call requires that I specify an app profile UUID but no matter where I look, I can’t find any reference to this UUID, neither in the UI nor via API calls. To be fair, I haven’t gone through every single API call so there might still be one that eludes me.How do I know what app profile UUID to include in my payload when using the “Launch blueprint” API call? Thanks!
Hello everybody, I started using Storage VM migration … vm.update_container VMNAME container=test-container … to move VMs from an old to a new container. Big VMs have been moved. I would like to delete the old storage containers, but space usage is still high, allthough VM have been moved to another storage container. I am aware of the directories … .acropolis, .file_repo and .ngt … and those directories are empty now. How can I reclaim space in a storage container, when VMs have been moved, the Recycle Bin has been emptied. No VMs have been deleted, only moved, so the 36 hours rule for space reclaimation doesn’t seem to apply here?Any thoughts?Regards,Didi7
How can I download Snapshot files from Prism or via SSH?I’m trying to follow this tutorial Nutanix Files - Deleting internal snapshots (SSR and CFT snapshots (as to find out where the snapshots are) but I’m encountering an error when I try to run the command “afs info.nvmips” I’m receiving “Failed to get FileServerVms”. Can you please help?
Hi,I have a VM that the network is not working, so we will make another VM.The problem is that we need one folder storaged in the disk. Can we download this folder?I know that in VMWare you can go to the disk and copy the folder in the Hypervisor. Has Nutnix this function?Best regards,Eneko.
The scenario is about VM migration from G4 running HyperV Server 2016 to G7 HyperV Server 2019. I would like retain the cluster Name which was on earlier G4 cluster post migration to the New HyperV Cluster on G7 Nodes. Is this possible? if Yes, what are the steps.Customer is using SCVMM to manager Hyper-V servers.
