Just curious how other users running AHV plan their ad disaster recovery? AHV does not support VM-Generation ID so it looks like the most straight forward method not including additional software would be to use the builtin server backup to backup and restore at least the server with the fsmo role. I wonder what happens in a protection domain scenario especially if there are multiple servers. Seems like there could be usn rollbacks issues. Any input on how others are doing it would be appreciated since the documentation seems to be scarce for AHV.
Looking for get-ntnxvm -SearchAttributeList syntax. Since the get-help doesn’t provide any information besides: “Search attribute list, only searches on few attributes. For accurate search, provide field names” Can someone provide an example of how to use this parameter? Most examples seem to use -searchstring. I would like to search for vmname. I know I can use a where clause and filter that way but curious if -SearchAttributeList could also do it.
For most of my vm’s that are in protection domains, the snapshot option is grayed out in Prism Centeral. Hovering over the option I get a popup with message “One or more of selected VMs is protected via legacy DR feature. Snapshots for these VMs can be taken from respective PE clusters only.” This option is not grayed out for vms that are not in protection domains. Why is that? What are legacy DR features?
