Hi all,We recently purchased a new G7 and during this new install we converted all of our VMs to AHV using Move and we are successfully running on AOS/AHV. Working great.We now would like to convert our old 1050 with ESX/vCenter to AHV although we are hitting the DRS roadblock.We do not have a DRS license to enable this feature.We have also tried a “Trial License” and this doesn’t appear to be the best route (upgrading all kinds of vmware items just to get a “trial license enabled DRS “just to convert to AHV)My question is, now that our old cluster is decommissioned (All VMs are now on the new cluster), what would be my best approach at converting this old cluster to AHV and not having the “Convert Cluster” option hanging us up with DRS not enabled? Any input is appreciated.
Hi all We recently converted one of our environments to AHV/Acropolis from ESX/VCenter. All is well and runs just fine. One of the caveats is, we have a tertiary machine we use in “disaster” type scenarios and with this machine we would use our backup solution to “backup” a VM to and run with VMWare Workstation. As I understand it, Nutanix does not offer a “Workstation” type solution, so I am reaching out to hopefully receive some feedback on what a “new” solution would entail. Could I build a small PC and run Community edition on it? Can communtiy edition run on say an i9/32gb RAM/1TB ssd or does it need N+1 to function? This way I could point my backup solution to the new cluster or have my cluster be aware of a NAS solution and ingest the AHV VM as needed in these type scenarios. Any feedback will help me in the endeavor!
Hi all, We are attempting to update our AOS offline (all of our clusters do not have internet access) and we have tried uploading via IE, FF and Chrome to no avail. IE "uploads forever" and Chrome and Firefox say "Server Error" everytime. We are way past due for an AOS update (5.1.0.3) and we are trying to get this done! I have a few other side questions as well -- Is the AOS upgrade process non-disruptive? I saw the KB about updating the AOS and it says the CVMs will reboot, but other than that it should be seamless, correct? We need to update our hypervisor (ESXi 5.5 Patch 10) and need some input there as well if possible here, since we are on a Nutanix node config and posting here seems like the right place. If not, please let me know! We are running a NX-1065-G4 ESXi 5.5 Patch 10 vCenter 6.0 AOS 5.1.0.3 NCC 3.1.3 Foundation 3.7.2 BIOS 2141203 BMC 01.92 LCM 1.0.e1416e5 HBA MPTFW-10.00.07.00-IT Any input on the order of operations
