Hello everyone, I was wondering if it's possible to have different VLANs ID/Subnet range for each of the different traffic type bellow: - Hypervisor Management (ESXi) - Nutanix Cluster administration - Nutanix Cluster replication / AutoPath And the very best would be to even have replication & AutoPath on different VLANs. The rationale here is to comply with customer internal security policies regarding DMZ virtualization. We are allowed to use VLANs and are not forced to use differents physical ports, but the security team (worldwide bank) is concerned about the ESXi & Nutanix being on the same VLAN. Sylvain.
Hello, Is there a way (other than REST or scripting/crontab) to put any new VM created inside a container to a "default" protection domain? The rationale is to create a "standard" policy for all VMs of a cluster like "this cluster is replicated every 2h, by default", then if exceptions need to be handled, they can be treated on a case by case basis. I have a customer that is PoCing Nutanix, with the goal to move from a NetApp/NFS/IBM Blades solution to Nutanix if everything goes well. Problem is, they use SnapMirror to replicate their datastore (1 by cluster) every 1h. They do want to be able to replicate just a VM, but they don't want to have to add each new VM individually to a protection domain. Sylvain.
Hello everyone, Does anyone have an official date for the support of vSphere 5.5? And with 5.5 update 1 right around the corner (next month or so), do you now if the U1 version will be supported on the release date or will we need to wait some more? For what it's worth, our block is running fine in 5.5 since ~1month (although unsupported by Nutanix, we updated it with VUM without problem). Thanks in advance for you answers, Sylvain.
Hello, It's made the news yesterday, but in case you missed it, there seems to be a bug within vSphere 5.5U1 that affects all NFS users. NetApp & VMware (at least, maybe Nutanix too?) are working on the subject. See the post below for more information: http://datacenterdude.com/vmware/nfs-disconnects-vmware-vsphere/ That may also explain the delay from Nutanix in the support of the 5.5U1? Did you guys catch this while working no the 5.5U1 support? Sylvain.
