Hi team:We are doing POC for Nutanix Objects. So far function testing has no problems, but we have a question about backup: How to backup objects which is located Nutanix Objects? I don’t know if there are 3rd backup software supports to backup objects in Nutanix Objects. We now use IBM TSM and EMC Networker for on-premises backup for VMDK, file and DB. Thanks!
Hello!A few years ago, there was a topic raised about this issue, but I would like to confirm if there are any current issues.I am currently using version 5.20 of AOS and it was confirmed that the installation was done with RF3 two years ago.I would like to change this to RF2. I know that it is not possible to change the FT, but I only want to change the part related to Storage.It seems that the command ncli ctr edit rf=2 id=container_ID can be used for this purpose.When making the change, do Nutanix ManagementShare and SelfServiceContainer also need to be changed?Will there be any impact on the service during the change?

Greetings,In the Prism Element web console under the Hardware menu, there are drives on one of our nodes that are not showing up under the Diagram, but are showing under the Disk screen from the Table menu (see below). As you can see, all disks are all online and confirmed via the CLI as well. Our Nutanix versions are below. I’ve restarted the Prism service for this node and still showed the same result.Any help would be appreciated. Thank you,
Hi Team,What if some random people run a feature like Nutanix Object without having a proper license for it, what they just have is only for AOS license.1. will they successfully use it in the cluster? 2.will that Object feature be affected when the active AOS license expires?3.Nutanix license is perpetual right? so when it expires all features are still working except support from TAC but what about the features that runs illegally, will they be affected once active license that doesnt supports the feature they enabled expires? There are still many places where the old version is being used.Even if you try to install it with the previous version (AOS 5.10 or lower version) of the foundation on the G6 device to test the upgrade, it cannot be installed.Is it because all the firmware is up to date? It was the version that was originally installed. AOS 5.10 versions are not installed now?In foundation the log is "Device 2 :The Length of Name is not correct" The phrase continues to print. Please reply from those with experience.

Hi,I have two Nutanix clusters on different sites (one on each site) a few miles apart with 10GB low latency networking in place.I have setup a two node failover SQL Server cluster for HA on a single site, but I would like to add DR to the solution.I know Availability groups (and other options) are a good solution for this, but we can’t implement those at present and so I am looking for the ‘correct’ way to replicate the two node HA that we have (With it’s shared storage) across to the second site so that our front-end application will continue to function in the event of a site failure.Any tips or pointers would be very much appreciated!Thanks

Here’s the scenario:AOS with ESXi as a hypervisor, multiple ROBO offices / Dark Site (no access to the internet), Dark Site server with LCM, very limited broadband: 16Mbit with static shaping (4Mbit) for management purposes and 12Mbit for businessIt is very difficult to upload via AOS GUI 4-5GB of upgrade and .json file. 3-4% / 10minutes and upload task informing about a ‘server issue’. I’m 99% sure that it related to the broadband shaping.Solution is simple:upload tar.gz install/upgrade bundle, ‘untar’, install ( ./install/bin/cluster -i ./install upgrade )My question is: is any magic command to start pre-upgrade tasks with is normally presented in GUI if upgrade package is available? We have migrated a few Windows 2003 server VMs running on Nx / ESX to a new AHV cluster but in one of them after 3-4 hours the principal guest VM NIC stops responding and the VM has to be rebooted. We have tried deleting and adding the NIC manually with the same result so we had to roll back and boot that specific VM on the old Nutanix / ESX cluster. We plan to upgrade Fedora drivers to latest instead of stable and maybe change some network registry settings according to W2k3 best practices. Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice will be welcome.
What metrics are considered when Acropolis Dynamic Scheduling makes a migration decision on AHV related to CPU usage? Does ADS consider only CPU usage on the Host? Or does ADS take into consideration other VM or Host metrics such as CPU Ready, Co Stop, and/or Steal Time?

I am running into the following error (shown in reply) when trying to deploy a new prism central instance I have tried to google around and also looking at various support topics and forums, but I have had no luck finding anything relating to what causes this. I have renewed the SSL certificate in the settings menu, but that did nothing for me. any help or guidance on where to find more information will be very much appreciated. Hi,I followed instructions to migrate a Windows 2013 server from ESX to AHV successfully according using Nx MOVE to https://www.vmwaremine.com/2019/01/24/migrate-windows-2003-x86-to-nutanix-ahv/#sthash.8hpeCflP.T3i44mTW.dpbs, it works great by the way. Now… In the process SCSI disks are cloned to IDE and the Windows 2013 SCSI controller is not recognized. In this scenario, Is it possible to reconvert those disks back to SCSI? I guess I need to get the driver first (Fedora?) and follow available procedure to reconvert, Has anyone done this? Thanks!
Hello,We are moving VMs from an existing Nutanix cluster with VMWare to a new cluster with AHV using Nutanix Move 4.6 (last version). The problem is that for VMs with more than one network adapter in use IPs are not assigned most of the times to network adapters after the first one. This is happening for VMs running Windows 2016 but I have not checked if the same thing happens por Linux or other Windows versions but I bet it does. For this cases, Move configures those interfaces to get their IPs via DHCP. I read an old post about this behavior but applies to an older version of Nutanix Move (https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/kbs/details?targetId=kA07V000000LWejSAG). Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance
Our current Nutanix infrastructure has been a bit neglected for a while, AOS, PC, NCC, etc have been kept up to date but not firmware\bios or hypervisor so I need to get these done.Current infrastructure is nothing massive, two clusters one 4 node one 3 running on NX-8035-G6 and NX-8035-G7, both are AOS 5.20.4. We have one PC running at the latest version and its sitting on a separate Management vSphere cluster along with vCenter. Hypervisor is currently ESXi 7.0 Update 2a 17867351 on all hosts, this is Standard Edition so NO DRS ☹ My plan is to upgrade the firmware and BIOS etc via the LCM on the smaller of the two clusters. I have freed up one host so there aren’t any VM’s on it apart from the CVM. I take it I can just run the LCM to do the firmware updates on that host and let it do its thing without having to do anything else, it’ll shut down the CVM maintenance mode the host and restart it?Once that is complete I want to upgrade ESX on that host. Hello, I recently tried to run an LCM upgrade of AHV Hypervisor el7.nutanix.202011005.30417 to version el7.nutanix.20220304.242 and ran into an issue where a failure occured during the upgrade and one of my clusters is now stuck on “Detaching node xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx from metadata ring” at a little bit of a loss as to where i can move forward from here. I am unable to launch the console for the CVM and cannot ping the CVM. I apologize for the formatting on this post. This is my first time posting and I am not too sure how to best format or attach screenshots.shown below.
