5 Essential Tips for Maximizing Your Experience at Nutanix .NEXT for Bloggers
Nutanix SRE responded to a case I had opened.SRE checked current status of services from another session and issued a:genesis stopI asked if this is the normal course. He said no and that it should only be done as a last resort as it is critical that services be stopped in the proper order. In my particular case, it was OK to do it.Original session stopped looping when everything stopped (no surprise).I made the changes I needed to make to the Prism Central VM and powered up. Logged into PCVM and did the cluster start without incident. All is well.
OK, I think I found a way, but it only works if I can downgrade. Can I downgrade to 5.15.1?If I can, there is a path from that version to 5.17.1.3.
I’m not wanting the latest LTS version. I’m trying to install an older version to be in synch with our other clusters.
Just trying to make it the same as our other clusters which are at 5.17.1.3.This cluster is pre-production. There are some VMs on it so I’d like to avoid rebuilding it at this time. I need this cluster to be at 5.17.1.3 for our automation to work.
A co-worker gave me this.So there is no upgrade path to anything from 5.15.5.1?What’s up with that?
Just tried it with 5.16.1.3 and was unsuccessful. Not sure where to go from here.
Thanks. I figured it out that what I was seeing was right. One node was the leader and the other two followed it.
Here’s my problem. Node A & B are synchronizing to the wrong host. Node C is synchronizing to the right host. This is the behavior I see on the CVMs. When I do “hostssh ntpq -pn”, the hypervisors (AHV) are reporting the correct ntp server. How do I bring nodes A & B back inline to what they should be? I tried manually correcting their ntp.conf files with the correct IP and restarted the ntpd service. No change and eventually the ntp.conf files changed to the wrong settings. Not sure how to wrestle this one to the ground.
