Moving VMs from one AHV Cluster to another AHV cluster

Hello @Eric-The_Viking If you are looking for a easy way out, the best possible way is to setup a DR solution using Protection domain and create replication between source and target for the specific VM and then failover the VM to the target cluster. This will ensure minimal downtime.More details: Is it possible to live migrate a VM from one AHV cluster to another AHV cluster?Let me know, if you have more queries.

Hello Eric,Starting AOS 5.19, to live migrate VMs between AHV clusters, we have the "Cross-Cluster Live Migration (CCLM)" feature available. This feature is part of Leap on Prism Central and will help you live migrate VMs between AHV clusters. You can find more information on this at the link: Cross-Cluster Live MigrationPlease ensure you are meeting all the requirements for Leap and CCLM, requirements are shared at the link below.CCLM Requirements – Cross-Cluster Live Migration RequirementsLeap Requirements – Leap RequirementsOne of the primary requirements is to have identical CPU feature set on both clusters, if it doesn't match then the live migration will fail.If you feel above option to be complicated, we can use option of moving VM disks between two AHV Clusters. Hello Tony,Regarding upgrade to 6.1 from 6.0.2.5, it is NOT SUPPORTED. Current version (6.0.2.5) to Target version is not supported in this case. Current version contains code updates not available in Target version. We may have to wait for another STS Version.Regarding upgrade from STS to LTS, we should be able to upgarde to later without issues. Example: 5.19.2 (Last STS Version) can upgrade to 5.20 (LTS)Rohan

Hello Matthieu,Thanks for the response. Based on the details shared, this is an application layer or OS Level action. I would recommend you to reach out to Microsoft for details guidance on above scenario.Based on my past experience, the simplest way of running a program at startup on Windows is to place an executable file in the Startup folder. All the programs that are in this folder will be executed automatically when the computer opens. The location of this folder on Windows is following:%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartupYou can open this folder more easily by pressing WINDOWS KEY + R and then copying this text shell:startup.We can do this by creating a BAT (.bat) / VBS (.vbs) or Powershell (.ps1). Can the Witness VM be migrated From ESXi to AHV?

Migrating Cross-Hypervisor for Witness VM is not currently a tested workflow.
