I recently successfully completed installing ce-2019.02.11-stable on an old HP DL380 G7 file server after several failed attempts. In my case, it has two Intel Xeon 6 core CPU’s, 40 Gb RAM, 128 Gb SSD on a PCI card, six 146 Gb SAS hard drives in bays 0 to 5 and a 7 year old BIOS that I was unable to update. While I believe that your use of bay 0 for the SSD is correct, in my case I had to be sure the PCI SSD was logically ahead of the hard drives in the BIOS. Once the hard drives were configured as a RAID 0 array in the HP 480i disk controller as a single logical drive, the Nutanix CE installer recognized the SSD and HDD’s natively. My final sticking point was the inability of CE to fully recognize the onboard HP Broadcom Ethernet adapters and generate the error “cannot load firmware file bnx2/bnx2-mips-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw”.
