I don’t work for Nutanix, but I think their reasoning is that if you’re running a vCenter that supports your ESXi hosts, and the hosts are running a version supported by AOS, then you’re good. I can tell you we upgraded from vCenter 6.7 to 7.0 recently, and we’ve been running 7.0 U2b for a few weeks now, and it’s been perfectly fine.
I opened a ticket with support, and the technician was able to destroy the docker instance, karbon_core and revert whatever other services and scripts and such were installed/configured as a result of my having clicked the enable button :-)Case closed!
Yes, it’s possible, however, when I try to re-enable the efficiency measurement, it doesn’t work. It goes through the motions and shows that it succeeds in the task, but it’s still disabled for the VM when you back to look at it.Interestingly, I see that Prism Central has a new version that was just released with fix ENG-337894: “The VM Efficiency reports the status of Overprovisioned, Constrained, and Bully as NA. Also, the dashboard for VM Efficiency is reported as 0.”That sounds like it addresses this very problem.
I would imagine you have to upgrade vCenter to 7.0 before it can manage ESX 7.0 hosts, so I would wager it’s supported.
