Connecting Cloud Innovators: Building Community at .NEXT 2024
Thank you.
We have downloaded he vdisks onto an external hard drive. We have connected the hard drive to a laptop and are using WinSCP to transfer the vdisks to the storage container. I did this last week with a test VM and it worked fine. Yesterday, I immediately created an image when the vdisk was uploaded. The image is there but the vdisk has disappeared.
Thanks so much Alona. You have been very helpful.
No, it’s not a dark site. We will download the files to a hard drive and then upload them to the new site. Is there something else we need to do after we upload the files? Sorry, I'm new to Nutanix. Thanks for all the help. Mike
Thanks Alona. I was able to figure this out yesterday. Now I just need to figure out how to upload the files to the new environment.
How do you pull the disk files out for a VM on Nutanix running AHV?
I'm not sure that NFS is the best way to move stuff across a WAN like this. You might be better off pulling the disk files out and putting it into an FTP or something more tolerant of TCP retransmit and latency issues. What do you mean by the default remote site didn't work?
I’ve taken a brief look. Looks like this addresses moving from one hypervisor to another. We are not changing hypervisors just going from one AHV environment to another.
Thank you. This is very helpful
Is there a regular patching schedule?
