Connecting Cloud Innovators: Building Community at .NEXT 2024
The replication can be done only to another Nutanix cluster or to the cloud. You can check if your UCS nodes can be used as Nutanix nodes and if they are compatible, you can build a Nutanix cluster out of them and use it as the replication target.
Hi @Sudhirkv You can find information about Nutanix Mine with HYCU in the HYCU user guide here: https://www.hycu.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/HYCU_UserGuide_4.1.0.pdf (chapter 13) You can also find some useful information here: https://www.hycu.com/data-protection/nutanix-mine-with-hycu/
Hi Aaron, unfortunately, the traditional wildcard will not work there. You can use the following for-loop as a workaround: for i in $(ncli pd list name=<PD-NAME> | grep "VM Name" | grep "<PART-OF-VM-NAME>" | awk {'print $NF'}); do ncli pd unprotect name=<PD-NAME> vm-names=$i; done Just replace the <PD-NAME> from in the command above with the name of the Protection Domain and replace <PART-OF-VM-NAME> with what you would write before the * as if you used the wildcard. For example, if you want to remove only the VMs from the PD that have “accounting” in their name, put “accounting” there. I know it is not a beautiful solution and it is rather slow, but it works.
Hi Steve, could you check if this document covers your question? https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details/?targetId=Red-Hat-Satellite-AHV-Integration-Guide-v11%3ARed-Hat-Satellite-AHV-Integration-Guide-v11
One thing that can be important in choosing the hypervisor is that by choosing AHV you will get full support from Nutanix for any sort of issues as deep as it is needed. If you select Hyper-V, it is possible that you may hit some bug in a Microsoft product and you may be redirected to the Microsoft support to get the issue resolved. Microsoft products are not open source, so we are limited in what we can help with. It is always better to have a single point of support and you will get it with AHV.
Hi Radovan, The AHV hypervisor can be used as the platform for Atlassian’s containers. From the point of view of Nutanix those containers are just services running inside of VMs, so we will support the platform just fine. There is no official statement about those applications, but it shouldn’t be required as Atlassian doesn’t care on which platform their containers run. All the software support related to the applications will be provided by the Atlassian support and Nutanix will support the platform. Atlassian’s requirement is only to be able to run docker and that can be achieved by simply installing docker on a VM running on Nutanix AHV. Bitbucket also requires persistent storage and that can be easily achieved by using Nutanix Files. So, you should have no problems running the Atlassian applications on AHV hypervisor.
