5 Essential Tips for Maximizing Your Experience at Nutanix .NEXT for Bloggers
So couldn't you just foundation the nodes to Hyper-V and not worry about destroying the cluster? You can't migrate the data it sounds like for what you are trying to do. Just not sure why you will need to go through breaking quorum in this case?
This a supported asset? This is a community edition forum so if you have support on a 1k you probably want to be using official support. A 3 node cluster is a bare min for quorum so it may be having issues completing the destroy. Why areyou trying to destroy the cluster? Are you planning to re-foundation the block?
And I think those are the SRM placeholder icons which may just be noise in the client assuming that 031 is a protected VM.
Well community edition really doesn't cover anything with vSphere since it is not supported withing CE so not sure we will be a great resource. So I would definietly recommend opening a support case via your companies process and if you are really hot on the Forums than maybe the server-virt forum would be a better channel? Is this for commercial since ce only supports AHV?Would recommend opening a support case if so.
You don't use foundation in CE so is this better for a case or a commercial forum?
You probably would want to look at Acropolis File Services and the new Block Services features in the platform. No NFS today in AFS, but I believe it is on the roadmap. ABS is preview, but would allow you to consume the storage via iSCSI.
I would be talking with your Account team for the specifics since it is a commercial opportunity, but I moved workloads for CE by just mounting a Container via NFS and moving the VMDK (or an svMotion of the whole VM). I don't know if you could use parts of the "Cluster convert" workflow to then change those VMX/VMDKs into AHV guests if you prestaged NGT/VirtIO.
Would this be better for the commercial forums as I assume you are recommending support etc? And I believe generally 10% ssd from hdd raw is the rule of thumb, but since that will be your hot extent pool more is always better.
So you mean no support? Hmm this will be an interesting one as CE has no firmware management because of its nature. Jon what are your thoughts here? Has to be some way to get some help maybe in the regular forums for commercial?
Assuming this is for commercial nutanix and not CE? Have you opened a case?
