Hi AllThank you all for the suggestions, I have managed to get all the NICs on both switches working in Actiive SLB mode - I had been a wombat and missed the backplane vlan off the second switch, without the backplane the hosts lose their way and weird stuff happens. Have a super dayEric

Ok got it. What you can do: make an extra vswitch with interfaces which arent is use. patch those interfaces on the other network stack. change the vlans to the other vswitch or, if not possible, change the interface of the vm’s to the other switch. (Make sure the vlans/networks are correctly configured) Hi Jeroen I had some luck and I am now able to access the live X4012 so I can add a trunk to the second x4012 - as an interim measure can you see any Nutanix network problems if I then add NIC0 from each node to the second switch? Ok got it. Ahh if isolated, then shutdown the cluster and repatch the nodes. Keep it simple. ;) Hi JeroenThat would be nice but it is the full production environment and I think the downtime would be too long, as I found to my cost.

Hello @Eric-The_Viking Before make any physical network changes, you need to put the node in maintenance mode, only one node per time. Please follow @JeroenTielen steps Good morning Jeroen and Mousafa, thanks for your reply, however as the 2 switch stacks are isolated there would be no point in maintenance mode as all VMs would end up on one node and then I would have the same problem. I have been pondering this problem and I got to thinking about the 1gb NICs in each host - would it be possible to add them into an unmanaged switch solely for the purpose of maintaining a heartbeat? And if so would a new VLAN be needed? ThanksEric

Can I send an email alert when a user logs into Prism Central or Prism Element?

You can do this via SYSLOG in Prism Central. The login part is in api_audit information. This is how the message looks like: Thank you for this, and apologies for the delayed respose, i have been on holiday and just got back. I will try this out in a short while and feedback.

Hi Kcmount I would appreciate information on how you got it to work, we are trying to use Opmanager syslog viewer but I haven't found how to even get the logs out of the Prism. Thanks Eric

Moving VMs from one AHV Cluster to another AHV cluster

Thank you Rohan, are you able to tell me when V6 is available as a LTS path, according to the advance video V6 allows AHV to AHV. I have 70 VMs to move every way so far seems extremely long winded or only easy if I want to fail the whole set oup over at the same time, which I don’t. A department at a time is what I want to do. I can drag and drop in VMware why wasn’t this in eatlier versions of AHV?

Moving VMs from one AHV Cluster to another AHV cluster

Hells bells this should have been so easy, but it is problematic because some instructions say use a policy, then when you get part way through it says ah ha, you need V6 on one cluster! or you need 2 Prism Centrals… Why is it not supported to add new cluster into old cluster and just drop the nodes or both clusters into the same Prism Central and do the move there? If you can move from ESX to AHV so simply (that is yet to be tested) why can AHV to AHV not be done simply too?

NGT Upgrade messages - what do they mean

Thank you for the pointers, it looks like 6 out of 60 VMs did not get the upgrade, mainly due to the VM CDrom being occupied by another ISO image. I have mounted manually and installed and all is well in my Nutanix world.

Prism Central License

Hi All I have this problem with the latest iteration of Prism Central A1077 Warning Tue Jan 22 22:39:45 2019 N/A N/A Features not permitted by prism_central_Starter license are being used. The Licensing pane shows me what the "violations" are - things I have not used yet, so why were they enabled in the first place, and why can Nutanix not just disable the features like VMware does when trial licenses expire. A poor show if you ask me, pass the buck to the user.

Thanks for the heads up.
