Sounds to me that your Prism Element leader CVM memory utilization of 90%.If the Resilience is OK you either do not have 90% usage, or you have enabled HA mode, then the cluster calculates the RAM N+1. What is the alert number given by Prism?. Give support a call and they can help you do a stop of prism on the elected leader and then one of the other two cvms will be elected new leader, that can help offload the CVM Ram Utilization of the affected CVM. But if you’re at 90% cluster RAM usage you need to shutdown VMs for maintenance or in the event of a hardware failure. In that case you will need to invest in additional nodes or decrease the ram usage of your guest VMs.

One option is always to manually prepare the VM. I wrote an article how to ”manualauto” prepare the VM: Nutanix Move – Offline / Public Repo with non VM-To-Move Network access. In this Case you can always do it with http access and TLS will not be in play :)
If you dont have access to the hosts to be able to run move you can allways run my ”hack” using VMware P2V: Nutanix P2V using VMware Converter.It comes with absolute no guarantee, but i have used it succesfully many times :)

Okay! This is the use-case why we need P2V on Move! Then this would be no issue. In those special cases we have a small Nutanix VMware cluster, then we first P2V them to that cluster with VMware converter, and then ProtectionDomain migrate them to AHV!

Hi there!if you chose ”protect” the VM will be protected in the ProtectionDomain, and replication of that VM will be made possible to another cluster if you like. Simply press the protect button to ”add” the selected vm(s) to the protection domain.If you for some reason, dont want the VM to be protected anymore, you can remove it from the protection domain by simply mark the VM in the Protected Entities ans press the Unprotect button. Protect = Add Unprotect = Remove Hope that helps :)
@Farhad978 how did things end up with the foundation for your Lenovo Clusteri?
Just to make sure, can you try to move the Laptop to the 10gb switch using 1G SFP,Also from the switches, if you run ”show mac address vlan xx) do you se the Macs of all of the nics nd IPMIS?
@Farhad978 any update on the Foundation process? Did you have any luck? Take some time to review the network diagram from UPX above. You can allways log a support case to get a SRE look at your issue as well, let us know how things are going.

The correct cabling should be something like that 4 x 10G to nodes 4 X 1G to XCCs 1 x 1G Uplink cable 1 x 1G Link to your notebook Nice UPX :)
And just to be sure, you’re connecting the 1g cable and the 10g cables to the same switch? Where are the IPMIs connected? Can you draw a network diagramof how you connected everything?Would help us a lot i guess!

Okay!sounds like you have a decent setup!and you can browse the IPMI-s from the Foundation VM and you’re setting the correct passwords for the IPMI interfaces in the Foundation GuI. i would still like you to test out VirtualBox with foundation on your laptop with a direct cable in to the same VLAN as the new nodes and to try running from there instead of an esxi appliance thats because the networking seams to be in order what i can se. let me know how it goes!

Now i am installed foundation 4.6 on esxi. when it gets booting installer media. it gives error The target is not in ssh able or not in the phoenix. What is the phoenix ? Phoenix is the os on the node when it ships from factory! I have none exprience with Lenovo nodes, but with NX nutanix nodes you have DiscoveryOS on the nodes from factory. Does the Foundation VM have Layer2 access to the network where the NICs on the nodes are connected?Does Foundation discover the nodes automatically? If yes, try adding them manually, with serial and IPMI-IP.Also another question: What subnet do you intend to configure your CVMs with? I need the following info to get a better picture: Foundation VM-IP and netmask IPMI-IPs and Netmask intended CVM IP and netmaskThanks in Advance!

I guess they can, however, it’s unsupported! But if you install some old VirtIO from back in the days when XP was supported from Fedora it might work! Nutanix have no VirtIO that’s supporting WinXP that i know of. But take a look here: https://fedorapeople.org/groups/virt/virtio-win/direct-downloads/Install the VirtIO drivers prior to running Nutanix Move, and then move the VM without credentials, try to boot. No guaranties, but atleast you have a safe rollback plan if it does not work:connet network on Source VM Power Source VM onhope that helps :)
Haven’t seen that yet. Might try to reboot Prism Central again tomorrow. Any clue in the logs?
