Prism Central 4.7

Badge +8
Last week I upgraded our Prism Central from 4.6.1.1 to 4.7.

I noticed following the upgrade that our Prism Central cluster Capacity information was not being displayed, as if it was a 'fresh installation.' I assumed this was just part of the 4.7 upgrade, and that giving it time to collect data would start the capacity forecasting all over again.

However, now 4 days after the upgrade, I'm still not seeing any Prism Central Capacity information. It simply states "We are currently collecting usage data. Cluster usage data will be displayed here in 24 hours."

Has anyone else run into this issue?

I've heard this from one other source. Silly question perhaps, but have you tried a different browser? With the case I've heard about, a switch of browser actually solved the problem. We can still file this as a bug, but could you just confirm/check? 🙂

Sure - I normally use Google Chrome. I'm currently running version 50.0.2661.94 m.

I've also tried loading the Capacity page with Internet Explorer, version 11.0.9600.18314, and Mozilla Firefox, version 47.0. No change.

Is there anything else you would like me to try specifically?

Would you recommend then that I start jumping through the hopes of opening a Dell Tech. Support case to get a Nutanix representative involved?

Well, I checked internally, and also received confirmation from a coworker, this is a known bug. There should be a hotdog out for it soon addressing the issue.

Thanks, ! I appreciate the prompt confirmation and information dissemination.

I'll be looking out for the Hot Fix to restore this functionality.

As Bas mentioned, I just wanted to confirm, that this is a known issue, and has already been fixed. It is on its way into a release shortly.

Thanks, guys! I look forward to seeing the fix hit the streets for the general public.

I certainly appreciate the update!

Just a quick update - I have upgraded our Prism Central from 4.7 to 4.7.0.1 and the Cluster Capacity Runway has been restored. As a plus, with no loss of previous data!

Thanks again for all of the help and for the quick turnaround on the fix release!

I am seeing this now on our v4.7.1 Prism Central. I tried Chrome and IE browsers with the same message. Any suggestions? Let me know if I would be better off starting a new thread. Thanks!

:

I can confirm that with Prism Central 4.7.1 installed, I am currently able to view Capacity Forecasts for both clusters running 4.7.0 and 4.7.1. I am not experiencing this issue, myself.

Good luck resolving this!

, did that happen after you upgrade to 4.7.1? Which version of PC you upgraded from?

Yes, I just saw it today and I had upgraded Prism Central to v4.7.1 a couple of weeks ago and I know that it was working as recent as yesterday. I haven't tried rebooting Prism Central but I'm all for it if we think it will help. For what it's worth, the version of PC that I upgraded from was my Windwos 7 workstation.

It sounds a bug to me if it worked yesterday. When you referred to the capacity page, do you mean the VM detail page (where it shows multiple charts under the summary tab) or the runway page where it shows the runway prediction?

The message appears on the runway page (as shown below) and is the same for any/all of my clusters in Prism Central.

This is definitely similar to my issue, in some regards, but differs in others.

Where yours shows "N/A," for Not Applicable, mine dispaled NaN, for Not a Number - indicative of a bug/issue. Now, yours too may be a bug, I'm not a Nutanix developer. I'm just pointing out differences in case it helps.

Well, as luck would have it, everything reappeared after performing a reboot of my Prism Central CVM and waiting about 5-10 minutes. And no data was lost - I like easy fixes!

, that was what I wanted to suggest. Actually, you probably just needed to restart the cluster_health, such as follows:

a) genesis stop cluster_health
b) cluster start
c) ncc config_based analytics_module vm_power_status_collector_insights

We've just installed a VMware Prism Central server.
We haven't changed the default passwords, but we can't log in to the webinterface; Login failed.

Is this the fresh install? Did you use the credential listed in following link? https://portal.nutanix.com/#/page/kbs/details?targetId=kA0600000008eksCAA

It was default admin/admin indeed.

Thanks.
