Hello,

What is the best practice for upgrades to AOS for Central and the individual clusters? I believe I read that Central should always be updated in advance.

Also, are there any consequences to having a cluster at a greater or lesser AOS rev than Central? For example, 5.0.3.1 is GA for my individual clsuters but not so when I check for Prism Central.

Thanks in advance!

Prism Central should be upgraded first.

I don't know how Prism central will react if the cluster it is managing is at a newer release but for your case, all you need to upgrade Prism central to 5.1.0.3 is the AOS binary and metadata file. If you're looking for a Prism central specific 5.1.0.3 file, it doesn't exist.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

I was definitely interested in understanding any problems with a managed cluster being at a higher rev. I can't imagine that is good (especially when getting into one-click upgrade functionality) so we are staying away from that anyways.

I found it curious though that through Prism Element today you can upgrade to 5.0.3.1 (released today) and in Prism Central you can get to 5.0.3 via the "upgrade software" selection.

We are waiting for 5.1.x to bake a little longer and won't be uploading binaries for it.

Thanks again!
