Our datacenter experienced a power outage yesterday and when power was restored Nutanix powered up and everything was operational (Yay!). I've been attempting to find the setting that told the nodes to power up after an event like that rather than stay powered off. On desktop systems I know the BIOS has settings for power events like that but cannot find it in the IPMI web interface. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? Thanks.

Hi @EricUMD  So what I have understood is that there was a power outage and the node remained powered off and when power restored you need to manually power on the node by pressing the power button, is that correct? And you want the node to get power on automatically when the power restores?

If you are looking for the IPMI log for this even then it can be found in the following location

To capture the IPMI SEL Logs:1. From your web browser, open the IPMI page of the host.2. Click on Server Health -> System Management Logs. 3. Click on ALL EVENTS in log category, select ALL SEVERITIES, and click SAVE.

Thanks @Neel Kotak for the reply. Actually when the power event ended the Nutanix cluster did power back on. I did NOT need to manually press the button. Is that the default setting and is there a way to change that if it was necessary?

Hi @EricUMD It is recomened to keep on default settings

“Restore on AC Power Loss” in BIOS setting.

This has default setting of “Last state”. If this is selected, block will auto power on after power loss and recovery.
