VDI Simulator test failed. Timed out waiting...

Badge +1
HI guys,
I tried to run VDI Simulator on 8 node cluster. AOS 5.1.1.3, AHV 160925.71, X-RAY 2.0
Got following error in different scenarios:
Test exception: Timed out waiting for all VMs in 'VDI' to become accessible within 60 seconds, traceback Traceback (most recent call last):File "/builds/d8a0d508/0/charon/charon-main/builds/build-master-release/charon-python-tree/bdist.linux-x86_64/egg/charon/test/charon_test.py", line 828, in resumeFile "/builds/d8a0d508/0/charon/charon-main/builds/build-master-release/charon-python-tree/bdist.linux-x86_64/egg/charon/test/charon_test.py", line 1546, in __run_remaining_stepsFile "/builds/d8a0d508/0/charon/charon-main/builds/build-master-release/charon-python-tree/bdist.linux-x86_64/egg/charon/test/steps/_base_step.py", line 33, in __call__File "/builds/d8a0d508/0/charon/charon-main/builds/build-master-release/charon-python-tree/bdist.linux-x86_64/egg/charon/test/steps/vm_group.py", line 243, in _runFile "/builds/d8a0d508/0/charon/charon-main/builds/build-master-release/charon-python-tree/bdist.linux-x86_64/egg/charon/test/charon_test.py", line 1003, in wait_for_allCharonTestException: Timed out waiting for all VMs in 'VDI' to become accessible within 60 seconds

If I trying to run same test on same cluster but not on all nodes (i added only 4 node to test target) I get following error:
The task failed to start
ERROR: Unable to set global settings: InternalError: KeyError(u'5bab7185-5999-47d2-9372-976df2b821d2',)

Tests without vdi workload working well.

Can someone help?

Thanks

When using zeroconf, please make sure that the x-ray VM is on the same VLAN as the workload VMs are going to be deployed but since other tests are working, I suspect that's true already.

Also, ensure that you have enough resources to actually run the test.

If you'd like to post complete logs here, someone might be able to get more information about what's going on.

If you're not using the zeroconf networking, do you have enough IP addresses via DHCP to support the number of VMs X-Ray is attempting to deploy?

Hi guys
Test logs here. Xray VM and workload VMs in same VLAN. I can ping workload VMs from Xray using 169.254.x.x ip addresses.

Hi @acctoy

Were you able to make any progress on this? I see also a newer version is out - wonder if that will help as well. Let us know - community sharing helps everyone 👍

BTW - will you be at .NEXT in New Orleans this year? if yes, be sure to stop by the community lounge and say 'hi'
