Hello,How can I check the recycle bin in Nutanix v5?I’m facing a space issue with the default container. When I delete a VM, the available space in the container doesn’t seem to change.Regarding the snapshot files, I have snapshots that I can’t delete located in the path /default-container-/.snapshot.
I’m attempting to create a nested share and I’m receiving the following error “Failed to 'create' mount target due to an internal error 'Share path is invalid'.” The fileshare share is already created. I have attached an image of the settings I am attempting to use. I created a “test” share just to recreate the error. Am I doing something wrong?
I am getting Alert A160143: Warning: File Server Replication Job is stuck/idle,Warning: DR dataset replication job 8 has been idle for 2 hours. Out of the 20+ shares, four shares have replication jobs stuck, three at 0% and one at 90%.Any idea how to stop/restart a file server replication job?(Case# 01799860)
Hello Team. Is there a way to check the ip list of clients mounted with nfs in fileshare through the ncli or afs command? Thank you.
Hi Team, Customer is asking for rest API user credentials for using the v4 API to get the info of disk utilization of file shares. Can you please let me know what to share FOR THE BELOW SCRIPT in the rest API user credentials. And how to create the rest API user. #Files REST API user and file server$user = "REST_USER" $password = "PASSWORD"$PCIP = "PC_IP_ADDRESS" Thanks, Suchismita
Hi I wrote a dutch blog about the possiblity to migratie files to Nutanix Files using MOVEhttps://marcotubben.wixsite.com/marcosblog/post/files-migratie-met-move Happy reading !
I need to migrate a FSVM file server cluster from my older Nutanix cluster to a new cluster. It sounds like there are several options for migrating my file shares that I have listed below. Have you done any of the options below and what would you recommend? 1) Protection domains (Entire FSVM cluster, moves IPs)2) Smart DR (Per Share, moves IPs and updates DNS)3) MOVE > (Per Share, new DNS, and manually update file share configs) 4) Something else? Any insights or experience would be appreciated. Thank you!
We have a cluster with 3 nodes, we have configured multiple bridges for different networks, we isolated the NTNX cluster management traffic on specific VLAN and the Backplane traffic on another VLAN as well, we have a backup network with two different dedicated links on a different VLAN.This backup network which the Veritas NetBackup software is in, and as far as I know it supports Nutniax clusters backup via a plugin, the backup host in our setup is on a different VLAN on a different bridge, so it's isolated from Nutanix cluster management and cluster VIP.What is the best way to get the backup solution working with the mentioned setup, is there a way to expose the Nutanix API and allow access for that VLAN on dedicated bridge via different IP? or we have to configure network segmentation for KVolumns service? and if so, what the recommended way to route the traffic between the CVMs and the backup network bridge? Thanks
Hello folks,There is a requirement to configure Oracle RAC in a Nutanix environment. The hypervisor will be used with AHV, and license it plan to use is NCI Starter. It appears to be possible to implement this by using the Nutanix Volumes functionality to reference the Shared Disk as an iSCS target to the internal Guest OS.In the past, there was no cost for internal use with Nutanix Volumes, but now with the new license format, will an additional NUS license be required? Or is a separate NUS license not required for internal use?https://www.nutanix.com/products/cloud-platform/software-optionsFrom this link, it looks like that's not necessary.. Thank you
I have nutanix on premisesHave anyone configure nutanix objets as netbackup s3 repository for storing backups?Trying to configure and always fails withcredential validation failed. provide correct cloud account name and credential
Tried getting there from “Files” link in main demo.nutanix.com portal, or from the “Files Console” link underneath Files. This doesn’t affect Files Analytics or Data Lens, except any links that take you to the Files Console will prompt. The admin creds provided don't work.
Hello team,Always in learning Nutanix that’s totally new for me, I performed some tests today. One of those was to remove a disk to check if system will still be up. And… no :)All the CVM is crashed because it don’t find the removed disk.I have a Nutanix CE with a single node cluster. Is Nutanix storage pool not working as a RAID (1 or 5?) by default? Is there something to configure? Coming from VMWare, I make the comparison. On my ESXi I can lost one disk as I’m protected by the RAID-5 of the Raid-controller. Should I also use a RAID-5 for Nutanix? I read that disk must be in RAID-0 and Nutanix will protect it. How protect my single node cluster from a single disk failure?I certainly misunderstand or misconfigure something. Thanks for you help ! PS: The disk I removed was not one of those declared for the CVM during the installation, it’s a “Data” disk.
Has anyone set this up? I am having issues with Connectivity test from Storware/Nutanix Files I think that its URL related but the errors are very undescriptive
Why can't I add a new folder?
Hi, I have seen a previous topic on this subject and noticed JeroenTielen said you need to add the share to the index of the windows machine to have it indexed on that specific machine. but how can you do such a thing when i see in Microsoft forum:Windows does not support indexing network shares. You may still search them, but this is done in real-time without indexing, so may be quite slow. what can i do to make searching in Nutanix shares faster?
Dears: Currently, I found a problem when using Prometheus to monitor Nutanix Objects according to https://prism IP:9440/oss/api/nutanix/metrics. This works fine for a long time. But when our AD team disable NTLM v1 in domain controller, problem happened, Prometheus could not work as before to get the data from API.Current Prometheus config is like below:- job_name: 'object_exporter_bucketname’ metrics_path: /oss/api/nutanix/metrics/[object store name]/[bucket name] scheme: https scrape_interval: 90s static_configs: - targets: [https://Prism Central IP:9440] tls_config: insecure_skip_verify: true basic_auth: username: [Prism Central service account] password: [Password of service account] Anyone know if NTLM v1 is used during API authentication?
I need to adding new 5 Hard Disk Drive in existing 3 node including 1 clusterHW: NutanixHypervisor: AHV
Do we need to configure the AD authentication in PE Settings to fully connect Nutanix Files in AD?
Hi, Im trying to create multiple nested shares using the cli. Trying something like this as a testncli fs add-share uuid=UUID name=PI -share-path=/PITEST/PIbut I get this prompt.. Error: Please provide the password (Use -p option) What am I missing? Also is there an easier way to create multiple shares using something like an API? Thanks, Paul
Hi All, I have deployed one node cluster and it is running well.I would like to additional HDD of 500GBI added the 500 GB drive on the AHV node however how do I add it on the consoleany suggestion… thanks
Hi Team, I am new to Nutanix and I am learning the product. Like VMware supports adding external storage systems via iSCSI / FC and we can create datastore. Nutanix does not support external storage connection via iSCSI or FC, am I right? The only option is add local disks on the AHV server… Is there any roadmap when the external storage connectivity will be allowed?
We need REST API to get a list of all deleted files events in the last day per example. We need like this information you can see in UI. What API is used for this? In doc i see something about pulling and events notification, but we just want to query an API from time to time to get the list of events like in the ui, not using push notifications of events.
You may be aware of Objects Browser, the powerful yet easy to use browser-based s3 client that comes built into every Nutanix Objects deployment (if you have no idea what I’m talking about you can get a quick overview of it here). Well, this already extremely useful and popular feature of Objects has just become even more useful with the latest release of Objects (v4.3), which adds a special new capability known as Objects Visualizer. This feature lets you view and, in some cases, directly edit the contents of a stored object without explicitly having to download it to disk. This paves the way for more efficient workflows that can save you time and might make some of the software tooling on your desktop redundant. Pretty cool huh? Let's take a closer look... Think about the many types of files organisations store in their S3-accessible buckets: videos, images, audio files, PDFs, configuration files, automation scripts… a wide variety of unstructured and semi-structured data. At Nutani
I downloaded and installed Nutanix CE single-node in a VM and need to test Nutanix Files for that I downloaded File Server, but when I go create FS it tells me:File Server software downloadedVersion 4.4.0.1 downloaded.
