Nutanix Database Service

Hey,I have some older Nutanix hardware: the NX-1465-G5. It’s currently running an outdated version of AOS. I’m looking to reinstall the appliance with version 6.10. Is the G5 model compatible with AOS 6.10? Is there compatibility for my equipment?Thanks!

I didn’t get any answers to this question the last time I posted it and the forum marked the question read-only for some reason so I’ll repost it in case anybody has any insights to share:My organization is going to be embarking on a NDB implementation in the coming months and I’m while I’m familiar with the terms “greenfield” and “brownfield” (databases provisioned in NDB vs registered in NDB), I’m trying to get my head around what the key differences between these two approaches are. Do I lose out on anything major in a brownfield database?Assuming that you start with an existing database, what does the process for registering it brownfield-style look like vs provisioning it greenfield-style? Thanks!

My organization is going to be embarking on an NDB implementation this year and due to our existing clustering technology, our SQL Server infrastructure relies heavily on non-default instance names for our machines (i.e.  hostname\instancename).  If we’re able to preserve this on databases that bring across to NDB, it will save us a great deal of time/effort in reconfiguring existing applications.  Is this something that we’re likely to be able to achieve in NDB?  Put differently, I’m hoping that we’ll be able to preserve existing host and instance names.

I have created an Oracle single instance in NDB module. However backup is not working because of failed snapshots. Snapshot operation always fails in Unquiesce database step. A little bit more from logs:Devices file sys_wwid t10.NUTANIX_NFS_2_0_11075_d7c7770b_7488_4d5c_82c8_52b080e12e3e PVID none last seen on /dev/sdd not found.The machine is running on Oracle Linux 9 and the database version is 19.3C. Any suggestions?

Using Nutanix Calm to automate Microsoft SQL database deployment and build on what we did in the first 2 videos.

I tried to delegate the refresh of a clone database to my USER (not SUPER-ADMIN). I created a role with [Refresh Clone] privilege and i configured [Entity Sharing Policies] on the object [Clone / TM] that user can manage. The user launch the refresh of the clone database but the operation rollback at step [Registering Clone Database].In the log, i have this error message :"message": "Failed to register the clone database. I have a Nutanix-era setup in place with 1 SQL server currently hosting 3 differents databases. It has worked smoothly for one year now. The last week i realized under state that i got a message saying “Delete_From_cluster” on all the 3 databases. The odd thing is that they’re all functioning as expected. I tried to find something online about that kind of issue but I didn’t find anything. Is it something you guys experienced in the past?

Hi, We use NDB with Ansible.For the moment our Ansible inventories are Static.We want to transform our inventories to dynamic. We want to create inventories from NDB Metadata by a Python script. Is someone done that ? Thanks for your help,Regards,Matt

Can we limit this in UI, if the minimum requirement is 20 GB? Currently we accept the value and allow to create a DB and then the task fails. Its better to add the checks with the limitations
